Question Lucid dream or astral projection?

I've never had a lucid dream or astral projection before, have been recording dreams consistently for 2 months now and last night I had a rather interesting experince: I had been dreaming for what felt like atleast 3 hours and as the dream began to come to its end, as I in the dream had a make out, everything went pitch dark, and I felt like I was lying in bed again. However, I could still hear the sounds and still went through the motions. I realized that I might be dreaming and the first thought that entered my mind was: "Rise up." (since i've been reading much about LD's and AP's I guess). I did and the darkness around me transformed into pure brightness. My body started buzzing like crazy, a buzzing noise started and became stronger and stronger, meanwhile its frequency increased rapidly (very much like a jet engine starting). I felt like a was launched into a vortex of energy, fully immersed in this brightness. I started flying in hyper speed (kind of like superman, I stretched my arms forward during my rising) meanwhile hearing a strong buzzing noise, what you would imagine flying in mach 10.
As I flew, thousands of sentences started appearing in front of me, spinning around and stuff. They were all questions related to this topic: "What are dreams?" "Are you dreaming?" I became to excited/fearful and sucked back into wakefulness. I waked up lying down normally.

However weird or crazy this might sound, your thoughts on this, whether this was a lucid dream or astral projection, if you can relate etc. would be much appreciated

Can't really relate, but I would guess it was more AP than LD. An LD involves you usually entering a dreamscape of somekind. AP usually starts off weirdly like a bright light or darkness, or nowhere basically, then a place forms. However LDs can do this too. It's one of the two, but that's not really important. What is important is whether or not you can do it again.

What an intense dream! That buzzing and vibrating was probably inner ear spasms. It happens when we are in REM. I love the way it saturated the entire dream.

Hello, it's sounds like the beginning of the merkabah activation my friend, You visited your lightbody, I let you search alone there's plenty of links on Internet. I've had quite the same experience 1month ago, twice in a row, amazing vortex spinning and feelings of accelerating at the speed of light. Never really tried again it's some kind of strange in a certain way. Could you keep in touch with me ? I'd love to have a chat with you someday soon. Cheers mate

You can very much phase into an astral plane from a state like this. I think this is more like an experience of your deeper/spiritual mind. I personaly love this state and I used to achieve it commonly.

Personally I'd say it was a LD. There's no clear evidence to show AP actually exists, and all previous ''AP's'' I've been under the impression I've had were none other than dreams after careful analysis. I'm not completely ruling it out of the equation, but it was more than likely just a crazy LD.

I think the only differences between AP and LD are based in belief. The experiences are so similar, there is no clear way to distinguish between the two. Good thing we can all have our own beliefs and decide for ourselves
