      Talking 1st EVER reality-check lucidity/OBE last night!!!!!!!!

I have had the most PROFOUND, unbelievable experience I've ever had in my short 22-year-life last night! I truly owe it to this board and the inspiration and knowledge it's given me.
So, I've been performing reality checks for the past month or so consistently in waking life every time I have the thought/awareness to do so. Prior to this, I'd only ever had one WILD that was very short-lived and it had nothing to do with reality check, I just realized I was dreaming. The reality check I've been performing has been checking my hands.

I don't know how it happened because I have no conscious awareness of being involved in a dream. All I remember was I had the thought of checking my hands, already somehow the feeling creeped up that I may not be in waking life. I looked at my hands and it took about a second to realize that there was no powerful glowing light or anything, but in the very center of my palm was a veeeeery light nearly translucent purple dot. It was like a lilac color. Right in that moment, when I had the sudden realization for the first time in this life of mine, I felt myself gradually slowly but then again near the speed of light (if that makes sense?) being withdrawn/black/sucked-out feeling out of whatever dimension I was in. I say dimension because I am OFFICIALLY aware whole-heartedly that there is so much more than this friggin' waking life!!!!!!! I didn't want to leave the awareness of lucidity but knew instinctively and immediately upon my awareness that I was getting "sucked back through" gradually, it wasn't instant, and I had complete awareness between lucidity in that other dimension and entering back into my body in the bed.

This has changed me forever. I finally get what I'd only ever read about on here. I feel an overwhelming feeling of wanting to HELP people achieve this

      Congratulations, UnrealReality!

I just love the exhilaration that comes with experimenting with lucid dreams. And, yes, lucidly entering/exiting a dream can feel much like you're being pulled out of - or forced back into - your body. Whether you choose it to imply dimensional travel - or just a trip in and out of the visual mind is up to you - but the experience is no less wondrous, either way.

Again, congrats on the first reality check lucid, and for becoming more aware of your conscious state. Keep practicing. Also, this would make a great first entry for an on-site dream journal. I would highly recommend starting one!

Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you two so much for the welcoming into the lucid world and for the inspiration!!! I've been obsessed with the dream state for so long, but only with lucid dreaming for about two years, and even then, only since I've found this message board have I been practicing reality checks daily. I'm one noob and can attest that practice works!!! I've followed every single routine I've heard everyone on here say. I've started a dream recall journal and made sure to write everything I remembered down (need to import them on here since it's just on the word program on my computer), and dream recall with reality checks and reading tons of posts helped me.
That feeling was the most unreeeeal amazing experience I have ever ever felt, I even recorded on my little flip my venting about it because I have no one to talk about this with except this awesome place but I'll refrain from ridiculing myself by posting it
I hope I can continue it.. but this time I'd like to remain lucid. I once heard a technique on how to remain lucid when you feel yourself getting sucked out of it. It was in a lucid dream book. I need to look back on it... I didn't even have time to get overly excited when I first became lucid, I just immediately got sucked out of it after I looked at my hands. It felt more like the end of an OBE

      Congratulations!

I've had maybe 3 OBEs since I've joined this forum around 5-6 months ago.

It feels amazing. To move around while your body in waking life is sleeping is amazing. It's really an experience that some people will never remember in their lifetime. Wish you well on more of these!

Just wait until you meet someone in your experiences that shows you unconditional love that cannot be compared in waking life. Sends a surge in your body that can last for days or even weeks!

And when you feel like you're being sucked it, maybe you're thinking about your body in waking life, which usually causes dreams to fade. It just takes practice in blocking external senses and focusing on your dream senses.

Yea it does feel truely amazing, and always will. If I were you, I would continue doing what your doing, but start adding more awareness into everything, as you will find that if you are actually thinking about the world around you and are trying to prove that you're not dreaming, rather than just doing RC's, you will become lucid much more. Now all you gotta do is remain calm so that you don't overexcite yourself and lose lucidity/the dream.
