      First Lucid Dream!!

For starters, this was my first full control lucid dream. I'm sure I've been lucid before, but I don't remember any. Anyways.

I was at a friends house - we tailgated at his house once with one of my grinds. I was in his bathroom, then a different door was in there. I did a RC (first time I've ever done it in a dream) and said holy shit I'm dreaming! Now, this part was a little messed up, but it was the first thin that came to mine. My friend told me about a lucid dream he had where he took a katana out of a random closet and killed a kid that pisses him off. I said "I will pull a katana out of this door" and I did. Then I blinked, it was hard to see anything, then i went back to normal. I blinked again, same thing happened, then I blinked one more time and woke up. I was a little mad, but thrilled I had my first lucid dream. (no matter how short) I thank dreamviews.com and the few people that gave me advice!

Congratulations, I remember my first lucid, it's still probably one of my favorite and most memorable dreaming achievements.
      What method are you using?

Weird part is, I didn't use a technique this time. I was hella tired, so I just went to bed. I fell right to sleep, and this dream ended right before my alarm. When I woke up I was well rested too, I could've ran a marathon. ^_^

My best guess is your internal clock knew it would soon be time to wake up so it ended the dream for you?

Well, actually it was the blinking. It just happened to happen in a late REM period, so I was able to wake up, write it down, and go on with my day.

I read up on blinking in dreams - some chemical in your brain keeps you awake. When you're sleeping, you have little to none. Same with dreaming. When you blink in the dream world, you don't have enough left to, "keep your dream eyes open," therefore waking you up or ending the dream.

Oh ok, cool, I didn't know that, thanks for that information I'll remember not to blink intentionally in my dreams!
