I know that shared dreaming is categorized for Beyond Dreaming, but I don't think it was an actual lucid shared dream I had, since I didn't meet the person I intended to meet, so I figured it would be appropriate to put here. |

Always, no sometimes think it's me,
But you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a yes
But it's all wrong
That is I think I disagree
-John Lennon
At first I was using a Mantra "I will have a lucid dream" and had the image of a certain area that me and a friend of mine would meet for potential shared dreaming, but after a while, I just started counting until my mind was clear with the intent of having a lucid dream. So my mind did wander a little bit because I had thoughts of the type of garden me and Alyzarin would hopefully meet, and other random things as well. |

I have never intended to WILD, because I can't fall asleep quickly. However I have had 3 unintentional WILDs (twice after WBTB, once randomly). |
|
In a lot of the successful WILDs I read about (and in my own experience) it seems that it's necessary to maintain a 'free floating state of mind' as Raduga calls it. In other words to not try to force awareness or sleep but let the conscious mind wander as the sleep process progresses, as you mentioned in the OP you need to do like Spyguy suggests and 'give in order to get', and sacrifice consciousness in order to successfully fall asleep to WILD. |

I would said at least 20-30minutes (probably less because I had two hours to actually wake up again). I wasn't paying too much attention to the time. I spent the time staying up going on Dreamviews to reply to a friend of mine, and through her words, I became more motivated helping her resolve that burden within her. |

Yes, I slept with a positive mentality that I will meet the person, and I basically told my subconscious that I trust that it will help me carry out what I want to do. |

I know what you mean about the difference in dreams when you show altruism. For some reason I become very selfish when I become lucid, I ignore DCs, I concentrate on my own experience. In the long run I suspect my sub-conscious may punish me for it. |
