wound up in someone else's lucid

wow - last night was the strangest LD experience I've ever had. It was a lucid dream in that I was aware I was in a dream, but for whatever reason it did not feel like it was my dream. I was walking behind someone else, and somehow perceived that I was part of a dream he was having and controlling. I tried to do things - turn and walk in a different direction, speaking to people around me - but I was unable to as it was against the will of the person controlling the dream.

it was of course, actually a lucid dream I was having. but I so believed that I was in someone else's I was not able to do anything but follow.

very bizarre. anyone else ever experience anything like this?

I experience something almost exactly like this, except I was following myself, I still couldn't control anything though and I knew I was dreaming. It was like a movie.

You know - everyone in your dreams is part of your own psyche... So, jonny, think about this part of yourself - why can't you control it?

Probably because the subconscious likes playing tricks just like the conscious. every time you do something while lucid does it work? The other day I had multiple FA and Lucids, and I became lucid during one FA and so the next FA I was lucid, but the dream tricked me by not letting my telekinesis work, although I suspect the reason was it was a little girl I was trying to use it on and maybe it didn't work because of how against child abuse I am. Who knows the mysteries of the Subconscious.

Yes, Autumnsphere is absolutely right. This is your dream and you are able to control it but you can’t.

...or you could have actually been in someone else's dream.

You just should believe that you are in control. Since you had doubts, you couldn't control it. Don't ever think that it's someone else's dream, that'll just force you to think that you can't do anything.

Even if you believe in shared dreaming, just think of it as a shared dream... you know... both of you own the dream or something like that
