Lucid dreaming / dream forming, not quite asleep?

So I did this this morning, but it's also happened in the past a lot. In fact this was my gateway to lucid dreaming.

Basically in the mornings, when I'm about to wake up for the day i stay in bed for as long as I can, saying 'just 5 more minutes.' lol

While I'm doing this, I go through things in my head, scenarios, fantasies or just thoughts about the day ahead. What happens is they go from daydreaming, to lucid dreams, but I'm not really asleep properly?

      It's hard to explain.

This morning I started thinking about someone at work that I needed to see, I was still sleepy so this turned into me thinking (without really intending to, like daydreaming) about a conversation with this person. What then happens is this forms into a dream, where I know I am dreaming, control the storyline and there are elements that I don't control. Like another DC entering the dream and talking to me. I often wake up and then go back into the dream again. I'm so close to being fully conscious that it can feel like thoughts rather then actually dreaming, but slips in and out of a dream.

Is this WILDing unintentionally? I don't do anything except laze in bed and fall in and out of sleep, in fact I often get disturbed by someone, have a short conversation with them and then go back into the dreamy state. It's like on the edge of sleep.

      Does anyone else do this?

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

Yes, sort of. I have noticed during the Menthol experiments as of late, like yourself. I tend to get early morning after my WBTB where I would be in a light sleep where I get all these visuals and reverie. If I concentrated on them then I would 'wake up' for real.

In answer to the main part of the question then I'm not a WILD expert, although there are similarities I suppose. I have done something similar just before getting up a few months ago where I was still in bed, I closed my eyes and visualised walking out of the house to my GF's not far away. The scene must have formed where I got dragged into this dream. I was outside the gate, going up the road, past my neighbours, when all of a sudden I saw my mountain bike propped up against the wall. (I did not visualise that there - WTF!) This startled me, causing me to wake up!
I try this adventure quite a lot. I managed to visualise all the route and got to her house (all in my head, this 'dream') then I always get sidetracked, realise this, and then wake up!
