I was lucid at the last part but lost it and woke up

Could you be a little more specific about what you did while you were lucid?

I mean, what did you do in the dream?

      Did you stabilize the dream?
      Did you feel/hear/smell/taste anything?
      etc. etc.

It's kinda hard to tell what you did "wrong" from only reading what you saw in your dream.

You said you were lucid at the last part, how did you become lucid?

Are you sure you were lucid at all?

It's just that, if you have never been lucid before and you make a first try, you might have a dream about lucid dreaming, in which you are not in fact lucid. If you know what i am saying.

Sorry, but this is my only guess from what you wrote.

If you realized it was a dream, you were lucid. Most of the first lucids are short. People wake up from excitement or from shock of realization. It will get better, as you have more of them. You did nothing wrong. Read some stabilization tutorials and posts in Dream Control forum for some ideas. Happy dreams
