      NOOO.. so close

so i went to bed at 6pm slept til 10pm.. went back to bed at 3am.. got up at 6am... went back to sleep at 8am... had this dream that i was in front of a pool party the pool was at the front of the house.. some old dude threw a full beer bottle at me it missed me and hit some guy in the head... then i woke up.. it was 10am when i woke up.. so i went back to sleep... and the exact dream repeated it self.. the same guy got hit in the head again with a bottle.. and then suddenly i was like... hey wait a minute.. that already happened... i must be dreaming... then i woke up?!?!? Noooo! why???? it would have been my first lucid dream ever. i have been taking multivitamins that contain 25mg of B6 every night for the past week (tho i forgot to take it last night)

i also have a faint memory of a dream earlier in the night, i dreamed i was lucid dreaming.. and that i was in Dragon Ball Z... i remember seeing Trunks and Goku fighting... i dont remember much of it tho

If you realized even for a second that you are dreaming, that's a lucid dream, mate! Congrats!

Yes, I agree this was your first lucid dream. Congratulations!

It is quite common for the first lucid dream ever to wake one up immediately upon realizing that one is dreaming. It's the excitement of the realization that wakes one up. I remember my first lucid dream also woke me up right away.

If you did it once, you know for sure you can do it again. And next time it will likely not wake you up right away ... And if it does, you will do it again, and at some point your mind will calm down enough that it will let you stay inside the lucid dream. Can't blame your mind though, since this is so exciting after all!

i should also note, before i went back to sleep at 3am i kept saying to myself, my next scene will be a lucid dream, i did it like 100 times... but i didnt have a lucid dream that time, it was one of the next naps that i realized i was dreaming in (altho i did have the dream that i was lucid dreaming dream at some point in the night..)

its weird cos being in Dragon Ball Z was one of my lucid dream goals

Wow, first time I have read of someone who had a same dream twice. And congrats on your first lucid dream.

It still counts as lucid dreaming even if it was .0000003 seconds, the only definitional requirements are that you become aware that you were dreaming.

I always get sad when people say this.

So you worked hard for I don't know how long to achieve this, telling your mind with your practice of RCs and questioning reality and mantras what it is you want. And now, when you achieved it, you deny yourself the victory, the satisfaction of success. And you are confusing your mind by telling it "no, this is not it, we did it wrong, this is not what I wanted".

Read what gab wrote above. Think about it. Then read it again. Could we make it into a mantra, something to your mind along the lines of "Mind, you did it right! That's it. More of that please."

I tend to be tough on myself in the same way - my official LD count still stands at a measly 8, but if I'd count all the times I got lucid just as I was waking up it would be closer to 20 I think. I guess I do it because I want to be able to have all my LD's posted in my DJ, but I don't bother to record it when it's just a moment of lucidity. I don't count it unless I'm actually able to DO SOMETHING lucidly - not just stand there freaking out as I wake up..

But I think you're right - I should probably start counting them. At least it would be nice to see that number change every now and then..

      I vote that you should.

Otherwise, it's like making the olympic team doesn't count, unless we get gold.

Getting your recall up is a huge feat by itself, practicing, learning the nuances of the process counts, reaching HH counts, getting more vivid dreams counts, reaching lucidity even if just for a second counts.

My first lucid was maybe 5 seconds long. Imagine where I would be, if I told myself "to hell with this, doesn't count, because I didn't get to go to the moon, found my dream guide, build a planet and have sx."

I still get plenty of a "few seconders". But it's not always the destination that matters. Sometimes the journey is as important and fun. Each time I have a blast, experiencing things I have never in my craziest dreams imagined possible. Teaching my brain about this brand new and strange state of mind. When we are lucid, we wake up that part of brain, that is normally not active when we sleep. That's some crazy shit. Just think about it. When we WILD, we keep our mind awake and enter dream without loss of consiousness. Can you imagine that? Can you wrap your mind around that? I'm not surprised, it's not easy to stay in that state. In fact, it's super hard. My mind is yelling at me "this should not be happening". "How the heck did you do it?" For most of us, it takes huge amount of concentration to stay in that state.

So each time you achieve lucidity, you should realize that you achieved something incredible. You did it. Now you just need to get better at it.

My first lucid dream ever I remember ended immediately due to my being so excited that I woke up. But I then remember the adrenaline rush lasted all day long as did the excitement. I remember thinking that my waking life seemed more vivid that day.
