Hello to all ! weird dream experience

Hello everyone! I am new to the site but have always been a very active dreamer normally being able to recall one or two dreams a night. I have been writing extensively in my dream journal for only a few days but already can remember 4 dreams a night, some are very fuzzy but i am sure that will get better with time. As for the weird dream experience i had last night i will start off about mid way through the dream so i don’t have to explain every thing. It starts off with me driving a car, at this point I am not LD’ing just a normal dream, then i notice myself starting to nod off i try and keep myself awake but as I close my eyes for good i reawaken in my old chemistry classroom. At this point I immediately no that i am dreaming, I got quite excited because this is my first LD after starting my dream journal but then a sense of horror comes over me. I remember that i just fell asleep at the wheel of a car. For some reason i could not distinguish my original dream from reality. I thought i was going to die at any moment, gravity starts to sway back and and forth as if i knew that the car was swerving. It got so bad that i was walking on the walls at points. I figured if i didnt want to die I needed to wake up so i tried to will myself to wake up but it didnt work, held my breath, didnt work. I ran to the closest DC and punched him in the face hoping that when he hit me back i would awaken, but it didnt work. Then i choked him hoping that he would choke me and i would wake up, finally i woke back up in the car but cant remember anything past that. Has anyone had this type of experience before?

I never had something similiar, but it sounds like an awful interesting experience. Like a reverse false awakening, nodding off in a normal dream, become lucid in the next dream scene and thinking that the previous original non-lucid dreamscene was real! That would also have scared the crap out of me. But hey congrats on your first Luciddream after you started your dream journal!

Congrats on the LD! Sorry it was not a very pleasant one. Sometimes Lds can turn out nasty, but you have to remember they depend a lot on our expectations and the emotions we project. In future LDs just try to be more positive and at ease, this has a great impact on the dream.

I am also including a link of something similar I have read from another person. A note of warning here, just because sometimes we have negative experiences, this does not mean we should expect terrible stuff to happen.

Wish you more pleasant lucid and non lucid dreams!

Thank you both for the replies. This first lucid was quiet a bad experience but I defiantly did not take that to heart. I am a very up beat person so it didn’t really effect me to much. But last night i had what i would call my first true lucid, WOW! what an amazing experience. Started with a false awakening after I woke up from a previous dream. Woke up in my bed feeling really strange so i went to the bathroom and the light switch didn’t work, it just confirmed my thoughts. After that everything was brilliant, I dont know the normal length of an LD but this seemed to last for days,( literally ). Woke up before i could shoot lightning from my hands but i managed to start flying. I felt like a toddler learning how to walk, flying into trees and building. I hear it is unusual to convince a DC that they are part of a dream but i convinced a cop that he was a DC after i shot him and he didnt die. So we pretty much just drove around fucking shit up.HAHA! A truly amazing experience! I believe it was so vivid and long because i have been meditating three times a day and building what i like to call my dream sanctuary in my head. I meditate then once in a good state i go about creating my perfect sanctuary were i can eventually meet my DG. Thanks again for the replies !

Good to hear that you are not taking the bad experience to heart and had such an amazing Ld! I wish you lots of lds like this! Meditation indeed helps, I have also noticed that after some meditation practice my LDs last much longer. Sweet dreams

Congrats on first lucid, and the second one too!
Dreams can be quite random at times, and memory from waking life don't always comes with lucidity. I would suggest writing/typing your goals right before going to sleep and/or using them as a mantra, that highly increases likelihood of recalling waking life memory.
I sometimes become lucid due to doing WILD in a dream, i guess that's similar experience, and quite confusing one considering i sometimes end up waking up twice in that case.
