I have spoken to my subconscious it's not always the same for, but most of the time it's a version of me as a child. I have learned vast amounts of information on the reasons I am the way I am. And he is always right |

I frequently have lucid dreams, except that i don't care to change anything. Whenever i have one, there is always a man in there who i think is my subconscious. He wears a cloak and hood, and the shadow covers his eyes. He has a smooth brown leather jacket, white shirt, jeans, and brown belt and shoes. He doesn't always come talk to me, but he's always there watching. Whenever i get to talk to him, i tell him personal stuff that i wouldn't even tell my parents, and it's completely comfortable to me. He gives me advice and tells me all sorts of stuff about me that i didn't even know about. Like freckles i've never seen before and how many hairs are on my head. He never calls me by name and i don't know his name. During dreams where i get to talk to him, we are either walking slowly or sitting down. These dreams are usually nothing but talking to him. Dreams like this always end with him saying "It's x:xx AM now. That's all for today because it's time to wake up." The time he says is always accurate to the minute, even when i wake up in the middle of the night. |

This is something I would like to explore in the near future. I hope more people respond and post their experiences. |

One other thing i forgot to mention. When i have a dream where i talk to him, there are no people other than me and him. When he is in the background, there are lots of people. So unless i talk to him, he's just a background character. |

I had a lucid dream last night. As soon as I realized I was lucid, I started flying like in most of my lucids. I remembered that I had read something about talking to my subconscious and decided to make an attempt. |

^ You better get to church son |

Actually I wouldn't put much stock in something an anonymous robotic voice shouted in a dream. No telling who or what that could have been! |
|
Right! Lol |

I love talking to my subsconscious in my dreams. They take various forms. |
|
I haven't spoken to my subconcious in any Lucid dreams. But sometimes my subconscious speaks to me in non-lucids. One example was when i was feeling down about how much my "friends" actually cared about me. I had a dream where i was gonig to the toilet, and there was a patch of sand right in front of the toilet. In the sand was written "Don't worry we love you, have fun *heart*". I knew that this was my subconscious((s)(due to the "we")), it really comforted me and made me feel a lot better in my waking life. |
|
My dream guide (who I consider the representation of my subconscious) has only said one mildly profound thing "Some dreams are meant to be non-lucid". |
|
I've never done it before. Most of the time when I get a lucid dream, I forget to do something meaningful and end up doing something really stupid (last night I prioritized catching a catfish with my bare hands over stabilizing the dream, so I lost lucidity). Rarely ever does a DG show up, either, and they always seem to change each time. Their only consistency is that they show up at the end of an in-dream "lucid dreaming class", in which I re-learn about lucid dreaming with a low level of lucidity (just barely aware that it's a dream) and become lucid after the class ends, at which I am given the opportunity to talk to the teacher who is more intelligent than most DCs. |

I attempted this with the last lucid dream I had. I asked it what my greatest fear was. |
|
I also had a lucid dream last night and I tried to find my subconscious AKA dream guide. I did the WILD technique (experiencing sleep paralysis first to trigger LD) where my dream started in my shop where I slept last night. I started rubbing my hands first to make it more vivid and head out to find my dream guide, while trying to find it, i opened a door hoping that my dream guide will be in there. It turned out that I saw a cat, I thought that the can can be my dream guide so I started talking to it but I can't since I was thinking that time that cats can't talk.. (I realized now that it's not my dream guide since it should do more something than that and it's limited to my thinking). After that I woke up. |

What i find very strange is that when many meet their subconscious (or someone they identify as it), they don't get the help they expected. This happened to me. I met a girl in my dreams, i wasn't very lucid so i don't remember her face very well, but the "aura" of her personality is still clear to me. She was at my age, but it felt like she was extremely wise. As i saw her i quickly made an approach, and to my surprise she wasn't very interested in talking. After a while she tried to walk away and i chased after her. Right before she was about to walk out a door i shouted; "Are you me?!". She said "yes" with a little smirk, and followed me up to a place where we watched TV. In the lucid dream i had before this one i couldn't use any powers and got mayor headaches (not when i woke up, but inside the dream), so i asked her about it. She only responded with "I don't understand what you mean". I asked her again, but got the same answer. As my anger rose, i woke up. |

I decided to do this in a lucid dream this morning. I called out demanding to speak to my subconscious self and very soon he (I) appeared standing in front of me. He appeared exactly in my image and I started to ask him/myself if there is something we should be doing differently in our life or is there something we should do in our life right now. I waited for him to give me a reply and I was absolutely floored and amazed by the knowledge he/I imparted. The enlightening information I got was "Get an ice cream cone." I had no idea what to expect but that was definitely not it lol. I don't know what to take away from it except possibly that there is no reason to overcomplicate life. Relax a little, get yourself an ice cream cone hahaha. Mysteries of life solved via lucid dreaming. |

@Obviously. I guess technically any character you meet in a dream is yourself. I typically find in a lucid dream when i question characters they try to lead me astray. Rarely will they flat out tell me that I'm dreaming, usually they tell me that I'm not dreaming and I have to do a nose plug reality check to reassure myself. When I ask them why would they (me) lie to me or try to trick me they usually only reply with a smirk. From the experiences I've had it seems to me that the subconscious has a defense mechanism to protect from intrusion by the conscious mind. My thought on why that might be is just because of the fact that they are 2 different minds that act in different ways. The subconscious seems to be far more abstract and nothing really has to "make sense" like it does to our conscious mind. It's able to make connections and interpret in completely illogical ways, probably far more so than the conscious mind can. |
|
The way i see it is that the DC's are personalities the subconscious has made up. So when talking to a DC we do not talk directly to it. Other than this i agree to your idea on seperate minds, defence mechanism etc. |
