Hi y'all! As you can probably tell this is my first post and I'm new here. I've been trying to attain lucidity for a very VERY long time now...I started trying about a year ago, but usually stopped about a month of no success...however, since the summer started for me in may, I've been trying every day for the past 4 months to achieve lucidity...I started with trying hypnosis videos [jody whitley, which i'm sure a lot of people are familiar with] That didn't work...then i started trying the counting technique as I fell asleep [1...I am dreaming...2...I am dreaming...etc. etc.] and then a few other techniques...And recently i've tried some wild techniques [though they don't seem to be working either]
But enough of that, on to the lucid dream!
I had woken up during the night and couldn't fall asleep for at least an hour, and when I finally managed to pass out, I started to non-lucid dream. It started out by finding a huge plate sized spider in my bathroom and calling my father to come and kill it...when he did, he was trying to sneak up on it in this really weird golum-like manner. But when he killed it, a freakin' BAT flew out of it and into another room of the house, and then for some strange reason there was a giant mound of really awesome looking moths in my kitchen...when dad picked up the spider to throw it away, he looked straight at me, and for some reason, something in my brain clicked.
"Wait...this is...REALLY weird...OH MY GOD. I'M DREAMING." And I tried my best not to get very excited, but I had the biggest smile on my face...So naturally, the first thing i tried to do was fly [while my dad stared at me like I was crazy...]...unfortunately, All I did was jump in the air and then float down slowly. Well...eventually i got very determined...so determined that i just started to flap my arms like a bird. It sooorta worked..but i didn't get very hih and I would eventually land on the ground again...So eventually i went outside, and when i did, I though that I would change the scenery to a nice relaxing soothing beach...so i closed my eyes, putting my hands over my face and trying to visualize and tell my dream that when i opened my eyes, I would be on a beach....And then when I moved my hands away, I was shocked because I could NOT open my eyes! so i relaxed for a moment and told myself not to do that again, and that by opening my eyes, i wouldn't actually wake up.
So i ended up PRYING my eyes open with my fingers, and i was still in my front yard...which was a bit of a let down...so instead I just tried to walk back into the house and attempted to walk THROUGH my door as apposed to opening it. Well, Turns out I couldn't get that to work either...Let down and disappointed, i just opened the door and walked into the house and felt the world going black around me, realizing I was waking up. Before I could think to rub my hands together, i was already awake :C
Anyway, I would like to add that I HAVE been attempting the wild technique, but for whatever reason, I cannot make my body fall asleep [even if i stay relaxed and still for an entire hour] while my mind stays awake, and I never see hypnagogic hallucinations behind my eyes...and i'm always readjusting them to see closer, the mid-distance, and the far-distance to see if my eyes are just adjusted incorrectly...I also started keeping a dream journal the past three weeks...i never did it before because i'm already very good at remembering my dreams.
the one thing I haven't been doing it seems is trying to create dream signs [like pinching myself, clogging my nose, or counting my fingers], But it's only because I forget to do them...
Also if this topic is in the wrong place, I'm really sorry!
If someone could give me some tips or something, I'd really really appreciate it. Thanks <3
