      My first (almost) lucid dream

So, I started my dream journal three months ago and I have written 16 dreams...

Yesterday I fell asleep something around 23:20 and woke up at 6:40 by my alarm clock... Dream I remember last I think something around 5 minutes, I was at school and teacher said we are going to write a test, I realised I am not sitting at my regular place but it did not bother me, then I wanted to pull out paper from my bag, but there was no blank paper, all of them was full of some text, then I realized I have only blank papers in my bag and in this moment I realized I am dreaming... I stood up a started to look around me and then I heard some sound, it was like background sound, it was not very loud then I realized it is my alarm clock... I was trying to say something (possibly swear) and then I woke up.

I hope I will have another soon

I need help! Today and Yesterday I remember two dreams, they were not lucid, but i controlled some decisions... It was very real but I did not realised it was a dream and I was behaving like I was awake. I did not know I can do whatever I want and I decided as I was awake. What was that? It was like I did not know it was a dream but I was making conscious decisions.

My second lucid dream started off just like that! I completely believed I was awake, it was like how I felt any other day, so I thought I'd do a reality check. I counted my fingers and there was the incorrect number on each hand, and I thought 'Oh my god, I'm dreaming!!!!!!!'. That hit me like a steam train.

So the reality check thing. I'd learnt that you can't really count your fingers in dreams, there's never a normal amount. So I had to get into the habit of as many times a day counting my fingers, the idea being, eventually, after so many repetitions in waking life, I'd do this reality check in my dreams and realise I was dreaming.

I was pretty skeptical. I stuck at it though and sure enough, this has worked twice (out of my 3 LD's), so far it has a 100% success rate and I'd highly recommend start!

Thanks for your advice! I will have to be more consistent, I am doing reality checks very rarely.
