Becoming a different species in dreams?

I have wondered at the possibility of this for a while; I would really like to try becoming a different species, like a wolf or something like that, or maybe a sort of hybrid between the two so I can keep my human capabilities while having the opportunity to try out a new sensory experience. (I suppose this idea makes me sound really furry, doesn't it. )

Anyway, I was just curious to know if anyone else had had such an experience, and if it was possible to feel nerve-endings that wouldn't normally be there in your normal, waking form, e.g., would it actually feel like you had fur or a tail? I think it would be a fascinating experience.

I haven't had my first lucid dream yet (but have kept a dream journal for a long time) and this is just one of the ideas I've bandied around in my head to try out, alongside jamming with dead musicians and exploring fictional worlds! (Maybe Westeros)

Oh, yes man!! It's all possible in the world of lucid dreaming. Having furr, wings, nerve endings where you wouldn't have them, multiple limbs, claws, tentacles, whatever you want. I even heard of someone transforming into non-living objects o.0 Like a stone. Or even a mist cloud! I read someone transforming into a transformer and feeling the oil rush through his metal veins, feel his metal arms and legs moving, he says he really had the physical expierience of being a robot. So yeah as long as you keep practicing you can become things and physically feel things beyond your current power of imagination.

      The BIG transformation guide

One dude had 3 giant penises and 6 balls, 9 girls playing with them, I'll find his journal entry if you want to

      Spoiler for Golem:

      Spoiler for Ant:

      Spoiler for Wolf:

      Spoiler for Spider/Dragon:

      Spoiler for Transformer:

If this is not enough, you can always google "dreamviews.com transformation" or shape shifting, there are lots of threads. But that transformation guide in itself is probably more helpful than anything else you are going to find on DV.

This thread sounds interesting! I am currently looking for ideas for things to do in my first LD where I am knowledgeable about stabilization and such. Transforming is now on the top of my list! (yes, even before flying!) Feel free to PM me ideas that you feel would be not too hard for a beginner.

      Awesome!

Sounds amazing, Ginsan! I look forward to trying this out! First I think I actually need to get the hang of having lucid dreams, of course, but this possibility has given me a new burst of motivation. 8D The Transformer sounded particularly good. (And multiple "organ" guy too, I guess )

I'm incredibly good at remembering my dreams, and they're sometimes very vivid (I just woke up from one about half an hour ago), so I don't think it should be too difficult for me to get on my way to proper lucid dreaming if I put some effort into it, and these ideas have certainly motivated me to!

Yeah, recall is really important! I am no expert but I think good recall is the single best thing a beginner can have! You should exploit it by writing everything down in detail

I tend to write down my dreams in as much detail as I can remember (but not pedantic detail). Can you give me any advice on extra stuff I should write down? No matter how vividly I recall my dreams (which is quite often), I never seem to become lucid.

Thats strange.. Imagine some situations in which you become lucid. For example if you just had a dream about dragons imagine yourself looking at the dragon and saying 'hey dragons are not real this must be a dream' and then imagine the things you want to do while lucid. You can also do affirmations. For example if you dream a lot about dragons, you could repeat to yourself in your head 'the next time I see a dragon I become aware that I am dreaming' 100 times before sleeping. If you know you dream a lot about a certain thing you can prepare yourself for it, so that the next time you see it you become lucid.

Sensei says some things about dream journalling, you should read his tutorial it might help you.
      How to effectively dream journal

If its still not working you can make a thread 'Great recall but no lucid dreams', people might help you out. I think it's really strange to have great recall and no lucid dreams. Maybe you should do some meditation, how is your self awareness? That might be the issue.

Im sorry about the late response, I am on vacation so DV didn't occur to me

      Good luck

Thanks very much for the advice, Ginsan! You've been really helpful. Scaling up my dream journal to a more intense level and generally being around the forum have improved my dream recall to even greater than normal levels, but that's also partially because of WBTB techniques. I'm hoping that the general increased recall might do the trick in giving me my first lucid dream. I'm going to try that thread idea out anyway, thanks! That transformation guide has me really excited to, which has increased my motivation to keep this level of journalling up. Gonna see if I can make it industrial scale!

      Thanks
      Liolar

write what you felt and could smell and hear. I find those are things that trigger memory when you wake
