      lucid dreaming vs psychedelic trips

Hi, we are Koen and Daan from the Netherlands.

For our senior year project, we are doing research on lucid dreaming. One of the things we want to know is: How does the experience of lucid dreaming compare to the experience of a psychedelic/psychoactive/etc trip (by psychedelic/psychoactive/etc trips we mean all abnormal experiences induced by some sort of hallucinatory drugs).

      We have 3 questions:

      1) How many lucid dreams have you had and which hallucinatory drugs have you used?
      2) If you could let a friend experience either your most exciting lucid dream or your most exciting psychedelic trip, which would it be?
      3) Comparing your most sensory intense lucid dream with your most sensory intense psychedelic trip, which is more sensory intense?

      Thanks in advance!

Some think that K would be more exciting than any lucid dream ever, but they are completely different. However, it is also possible to experience K in a lucid dream (provided you have experienced it before). And of course, DMT is on its own level. There are many hallucinatory drugs out there, and it's comparing between them, let alone between them and LDs is like comparing apples to oranges. Good luck, but without trying all types of hallucinatory drugs and having many different LDs yourself, it'd be impossible to really understand what you are researching. If you have, great, but still, other people's experiences would also be very personal to them.

I'd say my most crazy trip was on shrooms, but in reality it's quite similar to a lucid dream (minus flying), except, all the hallucinations are 100% real and the dream lasts 6 hours... XD

Are you interested at all in non lucid experiences? I have extensive experience with dissociatives and psychedelics, and my dreams are so abstract and random on their own that I can easily say they have blown my drug experiences out of the water, which is saying a lot, because when I trip, I like to trip fucking balls.

I am a natural lucid dreamer... had lucid dreams my whole life. I am an experienced oneironaut as well as an experienced psychonaut (shrooms and truffles)

      Here, a couple trips:

Spoiler for 5.5 grams cubensis trip - solo:

      Spoiler for solo 4g cubensis:

A couple of profound lucid dreams:

      Spoiler for Lucid dream 1:

      Spoiler for lucid dream 2:

And a non lucid dream, that breaks all the laws of the dream world, the astral world and the waking word... This one was during sleep with no psychedelics, but left me without words

Spoiler for The Life of Her:

      Now for your questions:

It is hard to compare both worlds, they are very different altered states. In a lucid dream, you have freedom without repercussion, with psychedelics, especially if you are tripping in a park for example, you are still aware that you have a "real" world around you and you may have repercussions. If you are tripping at night... well... OMG... just tuck yourself under the sheets of your bed and allow your mind to go wild... you go to mind-blowing realms (note: use psychedelics at your own discretion and check with your local law, as these substances probably are illegal and I do not promote their use) Ego is present in lucid dreams, while a high dose of psychedelics kill the ego... I could say a lot about both realms.

Lol! I would not call them weak... it is hard to put the feelings into words.

I am planning an Ayahuasca retreat And experience the highest mind blowing experience.

Share one of your trips, I would like to know why you called them weak hehe. Weak I consider my first trip, that was on 3.5 grams.

      We have 3 questions:

      1) How many lucid dreams have you had and which hallucinatory drugs have you used?

I lucid dream almost every night. LSD about a good 70 times, LSA...erm maybe 20 times?,psilocybin about, I would estimate, 120 times, 2C-B/2C-E/2C-I/2-C-T-7/2C-Whatever... Random amount I guess maybe 40 times. Methoxetamine, 5 times.
Dimethyltryptamine.... about 12 times..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CjfX9Zldas (that's a vid of me secretly recording me an and atheist friend of mine after we smoked DMT) pretty much every drug known to man I have done (not like i'm proud of it)

      2) If you could let a friend experience either your most exciting lucid dream or your most exciting psychedelic trip, which would it be?

      lucid dream, FTW.

      3) Comparing your most sensory intense lucid dream with your most sensory intense psychedelic trip, which is more sensory intense?

The Dimethyltryptamine was pretty intense, I remember thinking "If I died right now, I would be totally in utter euphoric happiness to be stuck here for eternity I hope when I die I go here" but Dimethyltryptamine is excreted by your penile gland while your in REM sleep so... Correlation... However, my most intense lucid dream blew the DMT out of the water. It made DMT look like candy corns.
