My first lucid dream was not really as i expected....

Here is the story about my first (what i think was a lucid dream).
When i got home after school i was really really tired and i was going to meet up with some friends later so i thought that i should take a 15 min nap, so i did and i fell asleep immediately, suddenly i just ''spawned'' in a caste or something and it did not feel vivid at all, i knew what i had to do in my dream and that was to fly too a mall that was floating like 1000 metres up in the air but it was hard because there was a dragon that kept shoot me down with fireballs, once i got to the mall i start walking around and there were a few people there and the whole place was a big mess, and i just walked around, i dont remember what happend later but i know it kept going for a while but i dont remember. ANyway i thought through the whole dream that this got to be an lucid dream but i did not feel that i could control the dream at all and i could open my eyes while i was having the dream, everything became black and i looked through my real life eyes instead and i had a kind off blur vision but everything looked as usual but there was a strange thing in front of my eyes but i can't remember what even how much i try to remember, the only thing i know is that it was not supposed to be there. Could also move my fingers a little if i tried. As i said before, this was NOT vivid at all, it's almost more vivid to close your eyes and imagine something. Can Anyone tell if this was a lucid dream or just a normal dream?

The only requirement to clasify a dream as lucid is you realizing that you are dreaming. Si if that happend, you had a lucid dream. You can have a lucid, that's not so vivid, with little or no control at all and different levels of awareness.

Some daytime awareness techniques may help you with being more aware in dreams, so you can stabilize and make them more vivid and try some control. Here is an ADA and SAT links. Post, if you have questions. Happy dreams

You were aware you were dreaming, so yes, it was a lucid! You didn't have much control, but this is a good start! Keep going, and you'll probably get more lucids. Congratulations, markusruhl. I'm glad your hard work paid off!

I have had lucid dreams like the one you described. Sometimes I am still aware of my real body in bed, while the dream plays out in my head. This happens a lot when I take galantamine. It feels like I never fully fall asleep. They are not all like this. Most lucid dreams are much more engaging and vivid.
