I had barely slept this night, having fun with grass and sleeping pills, something I used to amuse myself with a long time ago (dont do drugs anymore). I had come home at about 8 am because my dad wanted my help with something. I fell asleep in front of the tv, lying down.

In my dream I found myself still lying in front of the tv, it was still on (perhaps I could still hear the sound of it, I think it even was the same sounds/programs I was watching as when I fell asleep). I came to think of the things I was supposed to help my father with and immediatly had an urge to go somewhere else to get some niiiice sleeeep and then get to work. So I got up on my feet.

The funny thing is I was still lying down, while standing up. I walked towards the stairs, in an attempt to reach the basement, where I usually chill out, but the further I got from "body #1" in the sofa, the more my "visions" blended and mixed until I couldnt keep them stable anymore. It was like a roll of film where the images changed perspective more rapidly until a bubble burst and I was back at the beginning, in the sofa.

I had a strange thought. "Is this a dream?"
I held up my hand and looked at it and I discovered it was transparent (kind of) but the veins were still visible. Then it turned into a painting of a mounstrous face.

I got back to trying to get to the basement to sleep, but resistance was futile, my conciousness was not ready to be in possesion of two bodies. Too bad, I like the whole quantum physics "being in two places simultaneously" thing. But it was fun as long as it lasted.

Anyone else who had a dream like this or something close to it? I have never experienced anything like it since then.

sounds like a lucid dream. not a long one, but sounds like it to me. the 2 bodies is easy. one is your real body, the other is your dream body. if i could figure out my focus, i could do the same thing easily i am sure.

Ive had some other OBEs, but not like this one. The distinct difference was my f*cked up vision.

Another OBE I had about a year ago:
After having sex with my current girlfriend, I fell asleep (totally sucked dry of energy, with a bottle of wine in me) on the bed while she started to rip down posters from my wall (I had told her I planned to take them down, so she was kind enough to do it for me).

In my dream I ascend above the roof (I live on top of my house) and circle around my room, clearly seeing into my room, me naked in the bed, her moving around the room picking down posters looking at them. It seemed to last for at least a couple of hours (Im sure I did something else, but cant seem to remember it) and when I woke up I asked her how long I had been out. "Five minutes, tops"

Though I never went out of my body purpose. It just sort of happens. Ive experienced sleep paralysis too, but back then I didnt know anything about these things, so it was mostly scary, lots of strange hallucinations.

It sounds like an OBE but I'm thinknig that because of the face you saw it either was a very strange lucid dream, and it doesn't sound a lot like any astral trip I've heard of [but I haven't read too many experiences so... that's not something to rely on]

Thing is, it wasnt an OBE, because I was still inside my lying sofabody as well as my standing walkingbody. And I could see out through the eyes of both, John Malkovich-style!
Very strange.

Carlos Castaneda Describes this phenomonon in a few of his books. He calls it "the double" I don't necessarily believe it. He laerns about it when a shaman "Don Genaro" describes suddenly being aware he is at his house. He feels thristy so he gets a glass of water but he is unable to drink. flustered he decides to go to bed and discovers that he is actually sleeping in his bed.

He freaks out and runs into a field near his house. when he calms down he lays down in some tall grass.
He suddenly wakes up in his bed remembering the whole dream. He runs out to the field and checks the spot where he dreamt he slept. there was no one in that spot but it looked like something heavy had weighed down the weeds.

this is just paraphrasing the story. I don't really believe it tho.
