When LDs become just for the record..:(

It seems after so many LDs...it has lost it's meaning for me. Not that many and not that little but most have been short and unfulfilling... I think most people have LDs more for the record than fulfilment of what they want to do and are happy with it. Makes me think is LDing really that...'useless'? Just for the hype that I had an LD.... Please post your thoughts.

depends what your ld's are like.....I mean u say your lds are quite short if u keep going im sure there get better. My first ever ld was very short but amazing. Ive had a few rubbish ones but for the most part they just keep getting better and longer!

Man, speak for yourself! Every LD I have is another victory, and memorable, and no matter how short still amazing!

I like to think of other peoples' LD tallies as completely irrelevant, mostly because I have no way of telling if they are fabricating it or not. I keep tally because it reminds me of my success and motivates me

I can't imagine anything greater than LDing. Everything about it constantly and increasingly amazes me, i doubt i could ever get bored of it for one second.

If your lds seem dull then try techniques that get you lucid sooner in the night rather than in the morning. For me, my morning LDs are less realistic.

There comes a time after someone has had some amount of LDs, that the novelty of just being lucid wears off. Then, all that matters is what you do. The vividness, the control, the feelings, when these all come together in one perfect lucid dream, it's a hell of a night.

That means the fact that I still frequently wake up from excitement upon attaining lucidity on my... 49th lucid... is testament to the fact that LDing for the sake of LDing has yet to grow boring for me... I look forward to the day that wears off so that during the majority of my lucids I can actually have some more fun rather than just that burst of excitement

I try to have them in all dreams. The current method is autosuggestion which works but it is very late in the dream. The idea of lucidity only surfaces near the end of the dream. My theory is that when the sleeping mind is near waking up, it has access to waking memories. Thing is this, there is a paradox...the more I remember what I'm supposed to do while lucid the shorter the dream is. The long ones are the ones where I don't remember anything, just the realization that I'm dreaming and even that is quite short.

Maybe your lucids are indifferent because you aren't thinking happy lucids.
It's mind over matter, maybe if you think before you go to bed, "I will have an amazingly happy lucid," then you will.
It also could be just how your dreams work.

Hope it works out for you.
