A daring fall

I could not resist to tell you about this Lucid dream that I had even though I just finished sharing another one just minutes ago.

Ok, so I was in the kitchen of a tall building. It seemed like the fourth floor I was on, because I was looking down from the window and could see the cars the palm trees and the beach from there. This scenery is a real place in my hometown Brazil, around the shores of the atlantic... well the city is Vila Velha, Espirito Santo, Brazil. If you put Vila Velha, ES in Panoramio, you will see just how beautiful it is. And my friends, the image was so vivid. And it was scary for me to think of even jumping from that window. But hey, that's what I did!.... well, I first sat at the window and looked at the scenery below... then I felt it in my heart that it was a dream. I still thought it was a daring thing to do, to just jump off that window. But It was just because I wanted to fly. Of course In real life I would never be thinking like I was in the dream, so don't worry. So then I jumped and wow, what a feeling... I could feel the wind blowing against me, then I made that 90 degrees swoop to a horizontal flight, and could see the cars the coconut palms, the asphalt the people, it was very vivid again I must say, and for a Lucid dream we love it when it is as real as it can be... So while flying I said, well let's go to the beach.. then I remember flying to the beach and I landed there feet first jus like Superman. Well I don't want to tell what happened after, but just for the thought of how daring we can sometimes be in a dream... It is still a mystery to me as to how can we really tell that a dream is a dream when the images seem so real. I don't know.

Ahhh my stomach would lurch!
I always find the blowing of wind so strange in dreams.

Flying is awesome, especially in really clear dreams like that one!

You should start a dream journal. That way you can post all of your dreams in one place instead of creating a new post for each one

I hear you man. It's so weird how we can just know. Once, I had the feeling that I was dreaming, but all of my RCs failed. Despite that, I was still sure everything around me was a dream, so I jumped out of a penthouse window to prove it to myself.

I was lucky to have survived. . .

Naw, but could you imagine?

No problem. Just go to the Dream Journal section of the forums and start a new thread. Name it "Aloan's Dream Journal" (or preferably something more creative, I'm just giving the most obvious example

) and you're all set.

Loaf here has a great post on his blog about making good dream journals too; you might want to check it out.

I'm at work now, so here's a quick question.. Is it possible to upload a drawing (.jpg) of my dream to the journal too? that would be very interesting,as I have good memory of the dream, if not I could post a link to another site for that purpose.

It sure is! You'll have to host the image somewhere else, though. Flickr, Imageshack, one of a million other places...it's up to you. It just needs to be someplace that actually shows the image on the site, instead of giving you a download link. There should be a code box somewhere next to the picture you've uploaded that says "URL" or something of that nature. If not, right click on the image and choose 'copy image location'. If so, copy all the text in that box. Either way, when you're done, go to the post on dreamviews that you want the image put into. Click on the button that looks like this (

) and paste the link of your image in there. Now your picture is part of the post!

Sorry if I'm being too basic for you...I just don't know your level of computer knowledge, so I'm trying to cover everything

As many people as there have been on DV that talk about flying in their lucid dreams, I've actually had no genuine compelling desire to fly when I go lucid - I just have that little spark of interest in the back of my mind to do it. Sometime. Not soon, but sometime, I've got other goals to complete.

But! If my experience with flying can be as cool as you described yours to be, I'd very much enjoy that!

To comment, the only LD that I had, I just realized I was dreaming and I was fighting myself to do an RC. Even when it somewhat failed, I still said who cares and tried to do something, but, it ended pretty soon
