Red face All the Hurt Egoes Club Band

Idea for this came from Rant and Rave thread, thnx sinoblad

So I've got many friends with this ego-problem. Meaning they trying understand their ego and what it is plus how to live with it. Main problem seems to be of after reading too much eastern mysticism with european mind set they have gotten into mess with their ego'es. Some fight it, some point out the egoes of others, some try to ride it and in reality everyone is doing every three things. Someone made out this ego-spell and now it's spreading viral. Deconstructive point being that it's just A word where every different ppl is reflecting how ever they construct this box of their being. (ego is three lettered word, love is four lettered word it's spel, led love)

Best view of my ego, is that of child growing inside me. Feeding it with punishment for drastic or otherwise behavior just gets it into confusing state where it relfects the experienced hurt into it games (with toys, like child play). Downpoint or downwardpiral is that the toys ego plays with affect my mind and emotions. So it is bit of early childhood experiences like little child in me, part of my future shelf in it's womb having it's childhood before the egg is hatched.

Fraud's (oops, Freud's) ideas have been outdated for decades. I don't think anyone in the scientific community has seriously talked about "egos" for at least 60 years.

Here in home (that being not scientific community it seems) it's has been main point of argument and proverbial hammer for quite a long time. Shadow, other, enemy, evil, nemesis, ex-genderfriend, mom, dad, whatever it be for any other community (like word magic for scientific community) there are spells that we fill with thinks we want push aside or not give credit for what they bare for

I can see where the idea comes about, and I agree that it can be helpful to occasionally think of our minds in that way. But, in the long-run, it's an incorrect viewpoint.

The ego is our identity. If I consider myself to be intelligent, and someone tells me I'm stupid, then my ego might be said to have been hurt. The problem is, there's almost always a spiritual side to it. People who advocate the ego view usually think that, underneath our egos, resides what we really are, whatever that is.

It might be beneficial to think this way from a non-spiritual viewpoint as well, but only for the purpose of realising that what we think matters doesn't really matter, to help us stop worrying about things, to give us the power to change ourselves.

I suppose the main problem I have with the ego view is that the ego is always considered to be a negative thing, when it doesn't have to be. And that there is often a spiritual aspect to it.

Ego might be like very real mirror image. Ii's easier to see ego when I see it. Like in mirrors, paintings or photoes. Or even in other peolpe. When Ii see myself outside me, it's a matter of selfstudy, do Ii like how Ii see myself, am self too tired, ugly, selfrighteous, foolish or cute, interesting, beautifull, godlike (wait this must be narcistic ;-p). Same thing stems with reflecting ego within my mind. If Ii don't like what myself looks like when Iis' are looking at relfection of all that is me, Ii's promise to be more kind and supporting and resally try to see in the bottom of given situatuion ┤rather than twosidely tell only why Ii's don't care and what's worng in a cold and cockeyshort of way like this way of talking

I prefer the word pain-body, it's more specific to what the actual problem is, which can be confusing when you use the term Ego. People bring up Freud as if he has anything to do with what we're talking about.

As we grow up, we have to survive our family and our environment. To do this we develop patterns. We begin to believe things and we hold them to be true and attach weight to this truth. We lean on these ideas we have agreed to be true. These become our judgments, our assumptions which filter our ability to see the world clearly in the present moment. These patterns we developed as children to protect ourselves become cycles of pain and drama that we feel trapped in as adults. We react, we base our happiness on our state of being, we compare ourselves to what we believe is enlightenment and worse yet, what your friends seem to victims of, we get this idea that there's some sort of permanent enlightenment and once we find it everything will be okay.

Enlightenment is a habit you grow inside you with discipline and effort. The nature of the pain-body is to hide. It is a parasite living within you and it has a sense of self-preservation so where you put your attention, it withdraws. When it comes out, if you can use the power of your presence and focus on it, you will begin the process of dissipating it and it will plunge into deeper regions of you unconscious. Though we can be aware we have a pain-body we are typically not aware of the many secret ways it continues to motivate us even after we learn of its existence. Some of the most wicked men in history had a very good start, spiritually but they got invested in some idea or another. This is what we call ego, this attachment to beliefs, like a feeling we'll be hurt if we're proven wrong. This feeling hides in our blindspot. We must be every wary of the ways in which we can be dragged down by our old, unconscious thought-patterns and beliefs.

Great point. I don't know your entire belief system, but this I've witnessed and experienced to be true. While at a place dedicated to freeing people of their egos, I saw that often those in leadership positions had the biggest egos of all. They'd freed themselves of the more common ego beliefs, but clung to one or two more tenaciously than anyone else. And I could tell they didn't really want to let go of those ones.

I don't know my belief system either so you're fine.

Ah, okay. I thought I disagreed with you on about everything, but you seem to be making more and more sense lately.

Or maybe I'm just going crazy.

Ii's happy to notice that this deep blue tone is taken not only as cause and call to deep blues and weeps but real music that sbring arguing and different Is' together. For how can anyone really feel the suffering if not suffered deeply enough. And what we suffer is separtness and miscommuniction. Total and unescable realisation of how alone we're and how wrongly others are taking and getting sense of us. This should not be reflected outside us, cause if we are to do this we just reflect cause of 'taking wrongly' into other(s) fault. It is no-one(s) fault and it's not her fault either because the non-yet -aspect of her (no-one) occasionaly gets just as confuced on trying to interpret any some-one. Me like the painbody view of things. It kind of ties those causes of loneliness, accusations and misinterperation outside our seperate selves and outside our views of others (and outside no-body, thnx mercy). It kind of levels or plains (to use dimensional language) our narrative of pain and chace for the guilty into own 'emotional' level of reality and psyche. After this we can (not without breaks, me suggests for the sake of lighter moments) examine and explore our separate painbodies and collective painbody also - without hunting for the guilty. Because it's seen as a body, we can feel it inside of us when we tune into it.

This is for allowing us to wake up from the connection we made in our psyche during the childhood to see that it was selfbuildt illusion. It maybe easier for those who always felt disconnected. This is not a path toward loneliness but to slowly learn true connection and pits of communication so that we can learn to avoid them and be more gentle towards us all. And not to dwell on those emotional swamps and intellectual ivory towers anymore.

What Tim Hunter said in one comic: We don't really know other people, we know the things they have given to us.

Or things they have seen best or worse to not to give us

With trust we can learn to give right things for each separate other and with hope learn to see that they are trying to give us the right things (clues, gifts, sides of themself..)

to add more poetic wisdom (or folly) into this: you can treat painbody like an entity that is a mirror. It reflects things in certain tone. You can study it like the one in potter movies or the one that only tries to reflect what is viewed as most beautifull.. There are living mirrors in dreaming (some fellow oneironauts have told me) they can be quite ruff, but they do teach how to break the glass or bubble eventually
