You are asking someone what chair they would prefer to sit on, which is a question only the asked can answer.

You're also asking Why they chose that chair, which is a person only the asked can answer.

Maybe they chose the metal chair because it was shorter? Perhaps the cold nor the heat has much effect on this person in the way of comfort? Maybe the metal chair was silver and I like silver. Maybe the clothed chair was closer to the window? Or there was a PS2 controller sitting on the metal chair, and the tv was closest to it. Maybe the girl down the hall promised me a lapdance if I sat on the cloth chair, before I walked into the room!

At first I would sit on the padded one but, I would end up sitting n the metal chair. I like to break things and after a period of time of being in a room by myself I would start to get board. Then I would take the padded chair ( assuming it's wood ) and start to bash in into the walls, floors, window, ect. After such a psycoticaly uplifting activity,my flesh would start start to warm up, then possible overheat. So the heat robbing ability of the metal chair would be the seat of choice.
