Thread: The Need for Proof

Proof, in an argument, is only necessary as demanded by the other party during that argument. Proof is more important in reflecting how seriously you've done your research about your claim as opposed to being a foundation as to whether or not your claim is correct.

So...to the original poster, YOU may not think that you require proof, but if your claim does not agree with your opponent (or vice versa), then extensive proof would be necessary in order to win the argument.

This thread is pointless. I dont know if this is to be taken literally. But if it is, look for the definition of PROOF in the dictionary.

I started this thread to invite people to explore their relationship to proof, explore, discover & accept themselves & their own unique experiences in life. I am not here to start,win or participate in debate or proof.

In this post I'm not saying that I don't need to prove things to myself. Im just saying I never have found any proof for anything in my life but I accept it, sometimes I choose to come to conclusions, sometimes I may be wrong & that I accept that too.

Life requires no explanation no proof only occupants. Our own lives or experience is our own validation even tho they might be different

You're right it might belong in philosophy. I thought it might fit here because this could be said to be psychology and in that field it is connected to science via medicine.

Does the idea that there might be knowledge frighten you?
Does the idea that one afternoon on Wiki-fucking-pedia might enlighten you (and give you fucking proof on things) frighten you?
Does the idea that we might have proof of things so blow your idealist noodle that you'd rather stand in the fog of your inability to Google?

Isn't it enough to just accept the fact that things can be proven and that we are not just mindless sheep programmed to require something that doesn't exist to believe something??
