      Christians or Biblicans?

      Is "Christian" the right word to describe people that follow the Holy Bible?

      All I know is they keep making different translations, some accurate, some not, and of course you get occasions where the people translating feels stuff needs to be left out.... or in a more fucked situation, added.

      I looked up how many "translations"/versions there were, heres a good paragraph

      "Originally there were about 11 of them. In England, circa 1800 there was mainly one source of blblical information availabe to the general public. Whenever questions would arise regarding biblical prophecy the people needed to go to the church elders who in turn would refer to their ' Book of Scriptures ' for answers. These inquisitions became somewhat burdensome to the church. In an effort to alleviate the many inquries, King James wanted the people to have their own copy of the scriptures. He then commisioned scholars, scribes and elders to translate the scriptures in to different languages to accomodate the masses from which the King James Version, ' The Holy Bible ' was derived. if you actually look at what the bible says the original one says if anybody adds to this book though shou not reach the kingdom of heaven and it says the same thing about people who take off the king James version has 8 books left then the original bible"

      I love that though "the original one says if anybody adds to this book though shou not reach the kingdom of heaven", notice how it says "If you look at the bible, the original one"

      So after all that with the same question.... I don't think they should be called either. If anything, i think they should be called bat-shit crazy, and if you'll allow me, just as I'd call mormons bat-shit crazy ( i'm sorry but fucking.... South Park vs Mormonism | MilkandCookies ..... that and their magic underwear..... all just more bullshit meant to control you).

      Same goes for Scientology... bunch of rich fucks paying so they get good e-meter rankings so they can feel cool about themselves. Christians just happen to come from farther back, but of course they aren't the original for people who come up with afterlife/gods to explain death and creation.

      Sad part now is these bat-shit crazy people are fighting for control of our governing powers as to control america yadda yadda, not that that isn't something new for a religious group to do/want..... just that its fucked that decedents of the murderous christian crusaders think they can become the figurhead of religion for a country thats founded on foreigners.

      Sorry for long-winded answer, I just really dislike religions that preach this, and then practice the opposite :/

      Christians are not supposed to plan or prepare. God will provide (“Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or that ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on... Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, not gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feedth them. Are ye not much better than they?” --Matthew 6:25-34 & Luke 12:22-31 inclusive). Yet I see tons of christians planning to rob you of your "donations"

      Goes on for days..... So to be frank... I vote for bat-shit crazy or.... just bullshit for what we should call Christians.

      But what I'm getting at is a Christian doesn't have to obey any of that, and shouldn't especially if it contradicts the word of Christ. A Christian only has to follow 4 books from the bible. They would also need to follow many books which are not in the bible and considered blasphemous by the church, though.

      Anything else is a Biblican. If someone claims homosexuality is a sin in their religion, they're a Biblical, not a Christian.

      Only 4 books represent the word of Christ. There's nothing wrong with picking and choosing, the bible was originally put together by people picking and choosing. You just have to have a reason to pick and choose besides because it suits your ego. For instance when someone gets a tattoo that has the anti-homosexuality quote from Leviticus, they're choosing to follow that quote because it's easy for them, they're not gay. But they're ignoring leviticus when it tells them not to get a tattoo.

      Besides, the Bible has so many inconsistencies that you have to pick and choose in order to follow it at all. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being a Biblican. If you think the Bible is all the word of God then fine, be a Biblican. I'm just saying if you pick and choose the parts of the Bible that conflict with what Christ taught, you are not a Christian. And by definition, following the Bible alone doesn't make you a Christian. You have to follow Christ's teachings, including the ones that aren't in the bible. You can pick and choose the Bible over Christ's teachings, or you can pick and choose Christ's teachings over the Bible. Depending on which you follow, you either a Christian or a Biblican.
