Keep this relevant to lucid dreaming.

I am non-denominational christian. I guess you could say almost Christian/Agnostic. I believe in god but not in the religion (i'm mostly extremely biased against the organised aspect of religion) Anywho.

The one thing I think that closely relates itself to lucidity is Confucionism and Bhuddism and Hinduism since they all believe in Enlightenment/Nirvana, Ones soul and centering yourself. Trying to attain a higher level. Bhuddist monks meditate - Essentially, They are relaxing their bodies to the point of letting everything happen. Beyond that I don't know much more so please correct me if i'm wrong. But I beleive that could be a sense of lucidity.

I agree, I believe that when buddhists go to a plain of enlightenment, it is just a very pleasant dream.

Well, I'm Pagan technically, since I don't follow a major church.

Yes Religon makes a difference. Im a Christian im not supid and im not narrow minded so i have this to say, Athiests do not have a God to rely on so they put more effort in to it.
Christians i believe will pray more and hope/faith in that god will help them. So there some times God comes through for mr and helps me get lucid. But not believing in God and going all out to try can work just as well.

If you read or understood this congratulations!

I'm Agnostic, which I noticed is missing on the poll. But it isn't a religion anyway so I didn't vote.

I won't ever follow a religion, I don't see any need for it and since its all based on faith, one religion can be no more accurate than any other. Its all just stories made up by people to make themselves feel better. And thats fine, as that can be beneficial for some people who have perhaps lost their way in life and such and need some kind of reason to keep themselves going, so good for them.

But personally I can't see any way you could ever find proof for or against a higher power so I just don't think about it, there's nothing to think about

I 100% disagree with this. You should check out the "praying" thread in one of these boards, "attaining lucidity" maybe? The general consensus is that praying to the christian god yields the exact same results as praying to pokemon, or my favorite: Richard Dawkins.

Lol, exactly. this religion thing is getting a little dumb if you ask me (on this thread). it doesnt depend on religion it depends on you, DESPITE what religion you are.

Yeah, this needs more practical application to lucid dreaming to merit not being in the R/S section.

That is true, and I believe that religion doesn't matter, since I have been both a Christian and a pagan since I started dreaming, and it seems to make no difference.

I see where you are trying to go with this. However, the main difference between science and religion is that in science, you can come up with a theory and then test it and come up with results/data that either fit or don't fit your theory. You can do nothing of the sort with religion. So with science, you have "faith" in things that (you can go out and see for yourself if you wanted to) exist. "Faith" in religion is entirely different.

Yes bah, this needs to be in R/S.

You're saying that because I don't believe in a God, I rely on lucid dreaming?

Moderators, DGs, Admins, look at this thread. It is easy to predict where it is going, especially with the apparent steps already taken in the wrong direction. This has no purpose or application for lucid dreaming, and is just a poll and discussion of religion. I'm pleaing, move or lock the thread before it turns into a religious flame war.

Well. i'm kind of chistian because i'm in the church, and in the papers am i chistian.
But the thing is that i don't really believe in it, and i don't want to be in the church either.

If i have to choose a religion to follow i would take buddhism. i think it's the one that seems most logical.

pastafari seems like a interesting but awkward religion to me.

Christianity, and no religion doesn't affect lucid dreaming one bit

Eh? Look this thread has been quite civil, as far as I'm concerned. The only problem is that it's in the wrong section.

I am part of the Lucid Dream religion... The idea is to find out ways of improving lucid dreaming for others and for yourself... If anyone wants to join my religion, feel free to...

I agree with Mes. Right now it still seems civil, if it gets bad then one of us will lock it.
