I live in your philosophy and religion forums.
It's normal to explore and as questions. To evaluate. To wonder. Those that don't do as such have blind belief, not faith based on anything solid. Exploration can lead to a stronger Christianity and true faith, but don't loose sight of who you are and where you came from. |

Paul is Dead
Do you remember any particular event that caused you to give up your faith? Like a relative dying, anything like that? Maybe re-think the rough moment you stopped believing and figure out exactly why it was, there must have been some kind of cause. If you figure that out it could help you decide whether it was a mistake or whether it was a long running thing and it;s something that you can't change. Don't force yourself to believe though if you have no faith any more, I mean think of it this way. When i'm in church nearly everyone doesn't actually copy the vicar during prayers( he asks us read what's on the screen or repeat after him), hardly anyone says "amen". Sometimes I ask them why and you can tell, they just go to church because they always have, but really when they think deep down, they don't truly have faith. Obviously many do but I always think that if I were a God, I would have more disdain for those who paid lip-service to me out of fear or the like and didn't really believe then those who had the courage and intelligence to think hard about the faith and decide they do not want to be a part of it, even if it is the wrong path. |

Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!
Did you go to college. Faith and education are inversely proportional. |
|
Cuddleyperson, you are onto something. It is written, "For those of you that are lukewarm, woe to you! I would rather that you were either hot or cold, for I will spew you from my mouth." |
|
Paul is Dead
is that a direct Bible quote? It isn't familiar to me. |
|
Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!
I'll post the NIV and King James translation of the verse in one sec, then it might become more familair... |

Paul is Dead
it's ok i found it. I see what you mean although one interpretation was that both cold and hot mean positive things( cold to refresh, hot to warm) i think it does actually sound like Jesus is saying it is better to be true to yourself and strong willed, then to be half-hearted and not follow your convictions, even if your convictions are not right by the Gospel. |

accept that God is within |

I'm not putting any religion out there, but I cannot sometimes believe people believe there no God, look at this amazing Universe! Earth is this small dust in the Universe yet it is so HUGE to us humans. There's a massive load of space out in outerspace, there billions and billions of starts, tons and tons of planets, darkholes, all kinds of lights, different types of planets and this is all ' just became on it's own? ' |

Having a belief in god did make me feel complete, i felt loved, i truly did. But then my grandad passed away with cancer which the doctor didnt even know it was untill the last minute, i just gave up and thought why should i pray, why when you dont do anything.... |
|
Don't forget you can have a faith that doesn't involve Christ or Christianity. |
|
Embrace the doubt. |
|
Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
The reason you no longer 'feel' the faith is because your subconscious is screaming at you that it makes no sense. It has been all along, and just now it's so loud that your conscious mind can't ignore it. Belief makes no sense whatsoever, and that's not even considering who they expect you to believe in. If I was going to believe in a god, it wouldn't be that egomaniacal bastard from the bible... |

I cannot tell you why you "lost" Christ. But I can tell you what would help you in this time of doubt in your life. Review your beliefs, meditate on your values, your morals, and begin to think about what is valuable in this life. Don't stop at cliched, ignorant, or even hateful answers, such as "Because God says so" or "religious people are stupid". Question all things, and look for the truth that pervades social standards, bandwagons, and propaganda techniques. Don't let others sway you on your path, only let them inform you of the fraction of the ultimate truth they have collected. |

I truly do hope and pray that you come to the conclusion of Christ, but Daniel is right in that you must explore and question and wonder. You can't believe just based on paradigm. |

Paul is Dead
Im going to read some of my mini bible to hopefully come to a conclusion.. |
