Actually that is helping me grow spiritually and is helping form a closer relationship with God. It might also be inspirational to some others here so actually it is not meaningless where as your rude comments are. Try again there buddy.

Also, if you take that last paragraph, even though you don't believe, you can still apply it to your life. just leave off "in Your sight O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer".

My comments weren't rude, they were quotes, simply outlining the opposite position to yours. I find it strange that all of a sudden people think that these forums are for making private threads that don't encourage or even allow discussion.

"Teacher, which is the great commandment
in the law?" Jesus said to him, "'You shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: 'You shall love
your neighbor as yourself.' On these two
commandments hang all the Law and the
      Prophets."
      ( Matthew 22:36-40 *NKJV )

In the top verse Jesus quoted from Deuteronomy 6:5 and
Leviticus 19:18. By fulfilling these two commands, a
person may keep all of the others. For these two summarize
the Ten Commandments, as well as, the Old Testament moral
      laws as well!

The Apostle John summed it up this way; Beloved, if God
so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
      ( 1 John 4:11 )

This is why it is so important in our walk of Faith, that we
become living examples of Christ's Love! For when we mirror
that Great Love, it actually plants the seeds of Faith in others,
thus helping them to achieve Eternal Life with our Heavenly
Father. There is no greater gift that you can give to someone!

Also by giving this gift it pleases God and all of the Company
of Heaven, for it is written; There is joy in the presence
of the angels of God over one sinner who
      repents." ( Luke 15:10 )

So, have a Wonderful Day, and please take the time
to do a little planting each day!

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You, Because
      he trusts in You.
      ( Isaiah 26:3 *NKJV )

Now true peace in our lives can be hard to find at times,
but through our faith in Jesus Christ we can know peace
even in turmoil. This is because; He Himself is our
      peace. ( Ephesians 2:14 )

Now our Savior Jesus Christ said, These things I have
spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation; but be
of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
      ( John 16:33 )

Therefore when you find that peace has left you, and you
feel troubled; return your thoughts to our Heavenly Father
and trust in Him with all your heart. Always remembering
that; Having been justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus
      Christ. ( Romans 5:1 )

So, always; Let the peace of Christ rule
in your hearts, since as members of one body
you were called to peace. And be thankful.
      ( Colossians 3:15 )

Have a great day and may; The grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ be with you all, now and
      always! Amen. ( Revelations 22:21 )

Not a double post. If you'll notice, there is almost a twelve hour gap between them,
      John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus Said; There is nothing that enters
      a man from outside which can defile him;
but the things which come out of him,
those are the things that defile a man.
      ( Mark 7:15 *NKJV )

As Christians we must be careful of the words we speak,
and keep them soft and sweet, because sometimes we can
      defile ourselves with our words. For if we are not careful;
Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
      ( James 3:10 )

Therefore; Let your speech always be with grace,
seasoned with salt, that you may know how you
ought to answer each one. ( Colossians 4:6 )

So, speak only words of kindness and; speak evil
of no one, but be peaceable, gentle, showing all
humility to all men. ( Titus 3:2 )

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion
for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted,
be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for
reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you
were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
      Amen. ( 1 Peter 3:8-9 )

Hey everyone, been away for a while traveling a little, doing quite a bit of fishing and hunting as well. I also took up a teaching position at church so that is taking up some of my time as well. Hope everyone is doing well!

He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities; The
chastisement for our peace was upon
Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
      ( Isaiah 53:5 *NKJV )

Indeed we are healed of our transgressions, and iniquities
through the forgiveness of our sins. For it is written; He has
delivered us from the power of darkness and
conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of
His love, in whom we have redemption through
His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
      ( Colossians 1:13-14 )

When we think about how much forgiveness God shows
toward mankind, let us remember the words of our Savior
Jesus Christ, as he hung on the cross, "Father, forgive
them, for they do not know what they do."
So let those words be an example for you when you find yourself
      angry with another! ( Luke 23:34 )

After all it is also written; "For if you forgive men
their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their
trespasses, neither will your Father forgive
      your trespasses. ( Matthew 6:14-15 )

So, if you have been angered by another, why
not try to forgive them instead of holding a grudge. After all
your heart and mind will be at peace when you do! Amen.

This is beautiful davej. But how do you go about quoting these verses/paragraphs? Do you just read through and find those that share similar points - is that all?

      Thanks Really...
You can do that. Most Bibles will have an index which will cross reference. Also studying the Bible helps a lot as well.

that Christ may dwell in your hearts
through faith; that you, being rooted and
grounded in love, may be able to
comprehend with all the saints what is
the width and length and depth and
height to know the love of Christ which
passes knowledge; that you may be filled
with all the fullness of God.
      ( Ephesians 3:17-19 *KJV )

Our Heavenly Father's love for us is total,
and it reaches out to the entire world! God's love is
long for it covers us for length of our lives, and it is
high for it reaches to the height of our celebrations.
His love for us is deep for it reaches to the depths of
      despair and discouragement..

God's love for us is always with us through out all
      of our experiences in this life. The Apostle Paul wrote;
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor
things present nor things to come, nor height
nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall
be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
      ( Romans 8:38-39 )

So, when you are feeling left out or
all alone remember that you are never without God's
Love, and that He is right there with you!
Live to fish, fish to live!

Blessed is he whose transgressions are
      forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord
does not count against him and in whose
      spirit is no deceit.
      ( Psalms 32:1-2 *NIV )

Often people feel that they have committed a sin in the past
that can not be forgiven. A sin that is so horrible that God could
never forgiven them. This is simply not true! For; If we confess
our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive
us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
      ( 1 John 1:9 )

After all Jesus even forgave a thief on the cross, did He not?
( Luke 23:40-43 ) This is because when we confess our
sins and ask for forgiveness, our past sins are cleansed from the
Book of Life by the Precious Blood of our Savior Jesus Christ!
For, In him we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the
riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with
all wisdom and understanding. ( Ephesians 1:7-8 )

Therefore never feel that a sin you have committed in the
past can not be forgiven, that simply is not true! For our Savior
paid the price for the sin debt for the whole World on the cross!
So, it can be said; Who is a God like you, who pardons
sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant
of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy. You will again have
compassion on us; you will tread our sins under-
foot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of
      the sea. ( Micah 7:18-19

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and
bear a Son, and they shall call His name
Immanuel,"* which is translated, "God with
      us." ( Matthew 1:23 NKJV )

      For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given;
and the government will be upon His shoulder.
and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
      ( Isaiah 9:6 )

As we prepare to celebrate Christ's Birth, try not to get caught
up in the hustle bustle of the season, which is easy to do with
Santa Claus, Christmas Trees and Presents. Always keep in
mind that Christmas really stands for the Birth of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and His great gifts to us, including the
Forgiveness of our sins and Eternal Life as well.

Now it is my prayer that your Christmas be filled with love,
hope and faith, and that; the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, wii guard your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
      ( Philippians 4:7 )

Have a Very Merry Christmas and may it be
      happy and bright as well!

I am no longer a follower of The Master, as I used to most often refer to God,(I am an Atheist now) but as DaveJ has been absent for a while and this is indeed God's minute, I'll offer a little something:

      Light, space, Zest, that's God,
when I'm on his side I'm fearless,
afraid of no one and nothing.
      -somewhere in the psalms

I also happened to enjoy how the very last word in the scriptures is the word Amen, which means 'it is so'. For some reason, this final word made all of it seem so much more real to me. It seemed to say "it is so, there is a God that loves and cares for me, it is all true." That one little word at the end of that giant tome has always sent chills up my spine and filled me with something bordering on wonder.

Infinitly greater than you are... Damn that missing E.

Welcome to the year 2010 and; This is the day
the Lord has made; We will rejoice and
      be glad in it.
      ( Psalms 118:24 *NKJV )

What do you think this day, or any day means to our
Heavenly Father? For the answer to that let us turn to the Bible
where it is written; But, beloved, do not forget this one
thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day.
( 2 Peter 3:8 ) It is also written; For a thousand years
in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past,
and like a watch in the night. ( Psalms 90:4 )
You see even though a thousand years is a very long, long time
to us, it isn't when compared to God's Eternal Existence.

Now when we think about it, we actually live one moment
at a time, not a day at a time, do we not? For none of us carry
a guarantee of the future, even if that future is only an hour or
two away. So try to do your best in the moments that you have
each day, remembering that a lot can be accomplished in only a
moment. Therefore cherish each day that God has given to you,
and try to be the best person that you can be each hour of every
      day.

I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned
to me and heard my cry.
      ( Psalms 40:1 *NIV )

Patience has become a lost art in this World of ours today.
We have come to expect instant answers and results with
everything, even including our prayers as an example. Now
another example is when we watch evil men commit crimes
or cheat others, and seem to get away with it.
Therefore we are to practice patience, knowing that God is
in Control, and God's justice will be served! So; Brothers,
as an example of patience in the face of suffering,
take the prophets who spoke in the name of the
Lord. As you know, we consider blessed those
who have persevered. You have heard of Job's
perseverance and have seen what the Lord
finally brought about. The Lord is full of
      compassion and mercy. ( James 5:10-12 )

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently
for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers
in his way, Because of the man who brings
wicked schemes to pass. For evil men will be
cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will
inherit the land. For in; A little while, and the
wicked will be no more; though you look for
them, they will not be found.
      ( Psalms 37:7 & 9-10 )

Therefore my friend, Wait for the Lord; be strong
and take heart and wait for the Lord. Amen.
      ( Psalms 27:14 )

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not
envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is
not easily angered, it keeps no record
of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth. It always
      protects, always trusts, always hopes,
      always perseveres.
      ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 *NIV )

Our society today often confuses love with lust. True love,
like the kind God shows toward us, is directed outward toward
      others not inward toward ourselves.

Therefore we are to show others God's unselfish love
everyday. For it is written; Nobody should seek his
own good, but the good of others.
( 1 Corinthians 10:24 ) So; Let us not become
conceited, provoking and envying each other.
( Galatians 5:26 ) Instead we should be; Be kind and
compassionate to one another, forgiving each
other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
      ( Ephesians 4:32 )

Remember that there is joy to be found in
giving to others without expecting anything in return! After all
that kind of unselfish love is the kind that God fills His
Children with, and expects His Children to show to one
      another as well. Amen.

Have a wonderful weekend my friends, and let your love light
shine brightly. For after all; God is love (1 John 4:16)
and you are His Child! So smile and it will make it a Wonderful
      Day!

      All My Love & Prayers,
      Dave

Also I have a friend that is having to make some very difficult decisions in his life. he is really praying so that God may show him the right choices to make. Please pray for my friend.

You can do that. Most Bibles will have an index which will cross reference. Also studying the Bible helps a lot as well.
Will you look up raping, buying and killing young girls and post some advice on the best way to go about doing that? Or would that not be in the index...

But you've studied the bible a lot right? So you know where to find it, I'm sure.
