My first goal is to determine when, and how frequently personal dream cycles occur.
Information off the internet would not apply to everyone, so I devised a little way of finding my best time to induce audio feed into my brain.
I have got together a long playlist of my very favourite musical tracks, and put them on an ipod.
Intention is to see which songs filter through to my dream state, whilst I am lucid.
The music may also be a way to trigger lucidity, but I have not confirmed this yet.
Putting dozens of songs back to back would just ruin the effect, as people tend to ignore constant music / sounds.
On that point, I intend to play one song every twenty min's or so.
My problem is filling the 20 min's with silence.
How do I do this on an ipod? Is there an app' that will allow me to acheive the goal ?

An interesting experiment to use music to induce lucid dreaming.
I read all the posts, and congradulate you on your success.
Similar to what I intend to do, but my goal is to learn whilst in a dream, not just to become lucid.
An advantage I have is the ability to recognise a dream without any reality checks. ( Showing off a little there )
Just been into town today, and bought four sets of headphones. Two pairs that go into the ears. One large soft pair. One small Walkman type pair.
The task of putting together an interesting playlist in next on the agenda.
      Back soon

You could very easily, with free music editing software, create "silent" tracks of the desired lengths. That's what I did when I first started doing sound based induction.
I'm not always lucid, but whether I'm awake or asleep I'm always dreaming.
