      Dream help beverage experiments

I've been doing experiments with different beverages to see which would increase the chance of dreaming. So far, I hear that apple juice is a pretty good drink that helps

I, personally, don't find AJ to be that helpful

I have tried orange juice and find it to be about the same as AJ

What works best for me is cranberry-raspberry juice. I can average 3 dreams a night. I usually have a glass within 1hr of going to bed. I have been drinking it fairly regularly for 2-3wks. Sometimes I stay at the GF's so I have a glass of AJ or OJ... but it's hit or miss and can't really determine anything for sure

I would wish if a few of you could try cran-rasp juice to back up what I've found for myself. It would be good to have some people who find AJ helps them and switch. Also, some people who haven't tried anything like this would help. And some people who are new to dream recall can see if it helps improve recall as well as some more advanced people and tell me what affect it has (trying to get a broad spectrum of dreamers here)

I have also tried a glass of milk, but haven't done it consistantly for any amount of time to come to a conclusion

So if I could get some people to back me up on the cran-rasp juice, as well as OJ and maybe even milk, maybe we can discove some new ways to help dream more

Explore other beverages as well if you wish. Please be consistant. If you choose a beverage, stick with it for 2wks before switching, thanks

Whoever tries this, say what you're trying. Try to give updates after a few days to a week. How soon do you have your glass before bed? Is dream recall better/ worse/ same? Dreams more vivid? Any increase in LDs? (if you have anything else to input, say so)

Hopefully we can find some good things! Good luck and have fun

Have you thought about actually doing a little research about what might be contained in some of these drinks which could potentially affect recall? I mean, it sort of seems like you're just trying things at random and commenting on their effectiveness. But how can you even be sure for yourself if you don't have a control or any sort of analysis of what is occurring when a beverage is consumed? If you really want to make this a worthwhile experiment (not trying to say it isn't worthwhile, because I think it has great potential), I would suggest actually doing a bit of research. What is it about orange juice? Is it the Vitamin C? What effect does Vitamin C (or any other vitamin) have on dream recall? Are there some drinks with Vitamin B? What about tea? What effect does caffeine have on dreaming? See what I mean? Anyways...that's just my suggestion...but it's your experiment, so have fun with it.

True, I should include ingrediants that are the possible helpers to help increase the number of dreams

Yes, OJ is has 100% V-C. Cran-Rasp also has 100% V-C, yet I do a lot better with CR than with OJ... so I'm not about to tear apart the ingrediants to find the reasons. Maybe someone else can do that for me, haha

There have been many threads where people swear my AJ, yet AJ does hardly anything for me

I'll try to find some main ingrediants to some common beverages and find some similarities between why AJ, OJ, CR, and milk seem to work for people

I fig'd we could ask why later, and just have the fun now, lol

My main reason was to see if anyone else has decent results with CR to back me up

Forgot to drink CR juice last night, so over the course of sleeping for about 7.5hrs, I had one dream (prob later in the REM cycle as it was long). Wake up, go drink CR and go back to bed (Tried to WILD, but didn't work) and had 2 long dreams between 730ish and 10. Pretty good I think. I wasn't about to be stuck with one dream. I wanted more, lol. CR seems to work. Will still try to get some numbers as to why it may be helpful in dreaming... later

Ive drank milk almost every night for almost all my life, and it has no effect on me. I Dont drink it at my dads house, and have equal recall and LD chance.

I'll try Cranberry to or OJ to confirm.

Also, would Tea have a negative effect?

I've tried apple juice and milk with no apparent increased abilities, not a continious 2 weeks but on and off.

I tried cranberry juice last night and the average amount of dreams I get is 1 and at a push, two. I had 5 dreams and one of them I became lucid. It was only one night though and I'll buy some soon as I ran out and try for the 2 weeks.

You do realise what you're saying here right?
100% vitamin C means you're just drinking pure vitamin C. Which means it wouldn't be orange juie and it would taste like shit. I think you mean either 100mg or 100% of daily recommended intake.

From my experience now, cranberry juice does appear to help more than apple juice or milk did.

I generally drink some form of herbal calm tea, the one I have been drinking for over a month now has cranberry in it and I have very vivid dreams with great recall.

It might be the cranberry. Maybe it stimulates something in the brain when in REM sleep. I'll look into it's properties etc and see if anything has an effect on dreaming.

It actually appears like milk harms my recall instead of helps.
