Argue Something Ridiculous

Pretty simple. Choose a topic and argue with someone about something completely ridiculous. You can't break character and you have to argue with reason like you're in a fight and your life depended on it. Use stats, charts, graphs, facts etc. whatever. Say things that sound believable. You can falsify things, just make it believable.

Why? It's my opinion that people are willing to follow any idiot with a microphone as long as s/he has charm and conveys the bullshit in an intelligent light. (See: Scientology) Not only that, but their own convictions about the bullshit are what people buy into, not just the bullshit.. but sometimes people buy into a persons absolute belief in something just because they absolutely believe in it.

Post the topic that you want to argue and you can choose the pro or con side while waiting for others to engage you in the argument. Then the debate commences.

Example topics:

Why bubblegum causes cancer
How cancerous cells have been shown to extend penis size
Why the earth actually IS flat
Why the state of "being bored", is an early sign of dementia
How watching extensive periods of television strengthens the body's muscles
Why Obama is secretly a woman
Why humans have a vestigial third eye
How tanning beds serve as skin cell rejuvenators

So go for it. Religion has been exhausted in this forum and R/S so let's stick to something outside the lines of religion. Something irrefutably ridiculous by the general public.

I don't even understand why the penis one is on there, Jeff everyone knows cancerous cells makes your penis bigger, it only takes common sense to realize that cancerous cells are more of a threat to the body and therefore your brain sends more blood to the penis permanently making it bigger to watch the cells, duh.

I see one fatal flaw in your argument, ooflen. Cancer would not make my penis bigger. My penis can't get any bigger. I'm not saying I'm huge, but I saw this ad on the intrawebs that said, "CLICK HERE TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF YOUR PENIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111" Since it was on the intrawebs it MUST be true, so I clicked it.
I clicked it 48 times, and I STILL piss on my own balls!
So, it must not be possible for my penis to become any larger.

Unfortunately common sense alone is not enough proof. For example, common sense indicated the world was flat for a large period of our history. Common sense and idle speculation are therefore not enough these days.
What what be better proof would be if you had actually observed large numbers of male genetalia, taken averages, measured them before and after contraction of cancer. Exactly how much hands on experience have you got with mens genitals?

I'm not sure how this thread is supposed to work? Or what's the point? If I make up some facts about how bubblegum causes cancer, then the person arguing me just has to say, "you're lying." I'm thinking this is more SB than ED. (in fact, I'm quite sure it belongs in SB)

Some would argue that that's pretty stupid. Humans are systematically destroying the Earth and dogs were much, much better off when they hunted together in their packs, with their family. We have destroyed the environment they used to live in, as well as selectively inbred them (which is literally just a slow form of Genetic Engineering). So now they are being separated from their mother's at birth and sold for profit to selfish people with no heart.

Not really. History has shown that lucid dreaming is usually related to satanic rituals and animal sacrifice.
