One percent is 1 devided by 100. One hundred percent is 100 devided by 100. 33 percent is 33 devided by 100.
If you see somewhere, that a company will return 150% (extremely unlikely) of the money, if the product doesn't work, you'll get the product's worth back + 50%. Let's say that the product is woth $50.
Since we know that 1%=1/100, 150 must be 150/100=1,5. Therefore, $50*1,5=$75.
Saying "Give it 110% guys!" is just a metaphor, not a mathematical thing.
