Thread: How do you play with yourself?

Ok, so the idea is to post screenshots of video games, but with you playing them, explaining what the game is, about your character or whatever, and what is going on in the picture:

I'll start with a shot from one of my favourite games and an all-time classic, Civilization 2:



This is after a long war with the Germans, British and the Aztecs. As you can see, I was pissed off. Coventry was a pig to conquer, and thus you see the cities FUCKCOVENTRY and Anticoventry. Also included in the screenshot are renamed conquered cities such as Assraped Empire and Fisted City, but what you can't see are my German possessions Head-On-Spike and HAHAHAHA!. A new civilisation has been made after the Aztecs were conquered, the purple Soiux. That's why they have such primitive units.

Why not continue with that game I'm always prattling on about, Hengband? Since there is no restoring a game once you die, I have played as countless characters. This is my latest, Orkuruk the Half-Orc Cavalryman:



I'm the @ and I've only explored a small portion of the 6th level of the first dungeon, the Yeek Cave. Soon to die are a Horse (q), Radiation Eye (e) and yellow jelly (which can't move, j). I am looking at the horse, and am also riding one, which you cannot see.

Cavalry are a rather boring class; they have no spells and the Half-Orc race has boring skills. Also, your mount, who also participates in the fighting, steals much XP. This game is brilliant: Download it!

If this thread picks up I'll post my vast world empire in Europa Universalis 2, and my once-crappy-now-Champions League Ukrainian team in Championship Manager.

So, please, post your gaming experiences, I'm interested.

This is Geometry Wars, an insane game, with no story, just killing cubes and shit!

I forgot to get one of him, i started shooting him way too early.

Gosh, there's so many PC games on here! I want to go old school and post some SNES screenshots. Or even old-schooler, and fire up some text-based RPGs. Or perhaps I could pop in MYST... Hmm, so many options!

Update on my Hengband character: HE DIED

Due to my own stupidity. I wandered into a huge swarm of killer bees, and while weak and low on health, a sneaky low level human killed me.

He's at the top. You can see all my other failures here, too. I've played much better on the previous version of the game:



As you can see, I like Monk and Ninja classes. The Spectre race can walk through walls, which is obviously brill for Ninjas, and Draconians are a new experiment for me. They require much more XP than say a human, but they are stronger and can breathe many different elements, so it's very interesting.

Finally, the Mirror Master. They are the weakest things EVER at the start. But they get a useful offensive spell at level 2, and from thereon are *very* fun, and play like nothing else in the game.

FF7 is awesome. Especially the computer version because, well, there are patches...like the above screenshot.


Legend Of Legaia also rules.

Identity X, is that TA Spring, as in Total Annihilation? That's awesome. I design new units for that game, except I do it for the original Total Annihilation, not the Spring version.

Yeah, only it's called Spring now for legal reasons. I haven't played it much, but I just wanted to show off its mad unit counts (5000+ individually selectable doods) and hectic action. Superb graphics, too.

Shadow of the Colossus is like one of the greatest games ever...I think they should totally remake it with more colossi and 2 player co-op support for the Xbox360 AND Wii!
