The sky burned with the fiery glow of crimson as thunder roared and the mighty winds howled. Jeff tried to move his hand but could not...a vision flashed before his eyes of his loved ones nailing his hands to a 10 foot tall cross. His shoulder length sweat and blood drenched hair strands dangled before his face as his head hung with grief.
Oneironaut: 777... -cough-....
Jeff looked up and to his right. What he saw grieved him more. He saw his good friend Oneironaut hanging on a cross as well...
Oneironaut: Jeff...I will most likely perish before you pass away from this feeble plane of existence...
Jeff continued to listen to Oneironaut with a heavy heart.
Oneironaut: Jeff...I only ask that you allow me admittance into your castle up in the clouds.
Jeff mustered up enough strength and raised his head to gaze at Oneironaut.
777: Truly I say unto you, today you shall be with me in paradise.
Jeff looked on past the screaming angry mob wanting him dead and upon a mountain top, not too far off. Upon it he saw a figure in a black hooded robe. The figure pulled back his hood revealing his totally black eyes. He was souless, merciless and was that which the people I loved embraced at this time. Little imp-like demons with wings danced around him as he cracked a smirk. As he turned to walk away with his demonic cherubims...I noticed a marking on his sleeve. It read "nn". The nameless one...he who shall not be named.
This is the way I see things....
*Oneironaut wakes up on the hard bed in his cell. There is a clanking outside, and he sees two guards. They stop at his door.*
Guard: O, your time has come. Now you must repent for your sins.
*The guards lead Oneironaut to a separate room. Now he remembers what's going on. Today's the day. He's strapped into the chair now. Looking over, he sees spots reserved for all those that tried to save him. There's Oniman 7, Zeno, Spockman, and Jadestar. The one time they have finally met, and it is likely to be the last group of people Oneironaut sees. The priest comes to read him his last rites. Enscribed on the bible is the letters MoS. Out of nowhere, several cracks down the horridor. Jeff appears around the corner holding a guard's .45. He pulls the trigger a couple times, and the guards fall, along with the priest. A look of vengeance in his eyes, he turns the sights toward Oniman. The deed done, he frees Oneironaut. They escape from the prison. They are now outside, looking over the cliff. It is a cool desert night. Oneironaut then feels a barrel pressed to his back, and then a splitting pain. Jeff pushes him off the cliff, but O fights back. He grabs him, and they roll down a hill covered in jagged rocks. Reaching the bottom, the gun (still gripped in Jeff's hands) hits the ground and fires. Jeff stares down in disbelief at the bullet in his stomach. It has hit his spine, and he can no longer move his legs.*
Oneironaut: It's ironic. I used to consider you a brother. And now, on this worst day of days, you've betrayed me. Rescued me, only to let me die a death more torturous. But you've destroyed yourself too.... *Oneironaut coughs up a mouthful of blood*. I fear that I might not make it to the sunrise. But you've done worse to yourself. Where as I will be relieved of this pain within minutes, you will suffer. If you make it through the night, the heat will kill you. And you will be helpless against whatever will happen.
*By now, Jeff has gone insane from the realization of what is going to happen. He is not able to handle the truth. He has found a fist sized rock. Raising it, he strikes O in the face. Blood spurts out, and O starts to laugh. he does it again, and again, and again, until he can no longer recognize O. Then he realized a fatal mistake, one that haunted him past death. His death sentence was his way to pay for his sins. If he wasn't damned before, he was now. He watches the sunrise with tears in his eyes, and then raises the gun to his head. Click. He's out of bullets. He lets out an anguished scream as he realizes what was going to happen. He is dead a couple hours after noon, found holding the gun across his chest. Later that day in the hospital, Man of Steel has been resuscitated. He has won.*
