The children I gave birth to aren't related to me :P

Hubby got me a DSi the other day and it has a camera and some really neat tools. One of them is facial recognition that compares two faces to each other and determines how related to each other they are.
I saw 3 of my kids today and we played around with it some. I was only a 1% match (meaning not related lol) with my 13 year old daughter and 16 year old son. But I was a 39% match ("Cousins" lol) with my 12 year old daughter who I've always called my clone.
And apparently, none of my kids are related to each other either with only 1% similarities between them lol

So, while it's not 100% scientific it was a lot of fun

Well there is a suprising statistic that states that 10% of the people walking around on this planet..... their father isn't who they think it is. I suspect it's acually higher, there ahve been many cases where a family member was gonna donate an organ or blood to another family member, and through these results they find out they aren't related.

      That is scary.
But in my case... as much as they may dislike it, they're in the right family.
It's funny how genes work. I always thought I took after my bio dad, and I DO look and think a lot like him even though I didn't meet him until I was in my 20's. But an uncle found some very old family photos and I'm the spitting image of a great, great, great... (?) relative.
My sister Tonya and I have different dad's and she looks just like our mother. But her son could be my 12 year old daughters twin they look so alike.
My entire makeup isn't similar to ANY of my living relatives on my moms side. But somewhere along the lines my sister and I picked up enough similar DNA from the past to pass the traits on to our children.

Inherited traits have always fascinated me but I'm not logically-wired enough to wrap my head around it.
My first son was born with blue hair and blue eyes and looked nothing like his father or me. But now his hair is dark brown and his skin tone is pale and he puts me to mind both of my mother and his father (mostly his father!!!).
My second son was born with almost black hair and eyes and a darker tint to his skin, like his father.
My first daughter looks similar to my second son, but the more she matures the more she takes on physical attributes matching my first son.
The baby of the family resembles her older brother but she has my small build and mental/emotional disposition.

And to trace the characteristics even further back... ??? I think my head would explode to think about it too seriously

Born with blue hair? That's unusual...

ROFL! I was typing ahead of myself. He had BLONDE hair, not blue
I'm uploading some pics now. We're a strange motley crew, that's for sure.

Here's all of us, though it's several years old.

My sister Tonya, Mom, Oldest Son, [step] dad. Then my younger son and me. Then my oldest daughter (making rabbit ears) and nephew, followed by my youngest daughter and niece.

      A recent pic of me

My oldest son. Youngest daughter and nephew. My niece and older daughter
      (younger son was home sick)

      My youngest son.

The "twins" (my youngest daughter and Nephew)

Dammit, Zhaylin. And here I was thinking you were a chimeric mother.
