      Everyman Cycle during school

Hello, i've been thinking for a long time trying an alternative sleep cycle, since i still am in school i need to plan around that.
I'm on a summer vacation at the moment so i have plenty of time to get used to the cycle. So i need some advice for a cycle that fits

I need to wake up at 07:30 to prepare for school and i am home around 15:30.
The popular 3 hour core + 3x20 min naps wont work since i'm at school for 8 hours.
Will i just be able to push one of the naps 1 hour and then stick with the plan afterwards?

      Help is much appreciated

In terms of lucid dreaming I would advise against changing your sleep schedule to anything other than the standard 8 hours, or one large chunk of sleep each day. I've never heard any positive results from a polyphasic sleep cycle in terms of lucid dreaming. That added to the fact that you are at school and thus unable to sleep for 8 hours of the day would make it impossible to have the standard schedule which may or may not change the effects.

However, if you want to experiment with this and just want to see whether or not it would work then that's fine and more power to you, but if your goal is to have LDs then I would suggest sticking with the standard 8 hour sleep schedule.

Go for it! Experiment with different times during the summer and see how it works out. If you feel like it's going good then you can continue doing Everyman through the school year.

You should keep a log of your experiment on here if you decide to go for it! I attempted my own version of the Everyman sleep cycle, and I think its toughest trying to get used to it. Last time I researched it, most info said it takes up to a month for someone to adjust to the new sleep cycle. Supposedly you get bursts of REM sleep, and little or no NREM sleep.

When I was trying it, strange things started to happen in my short naps. I also got cravings for cheese and other things at times. Don't ask me why. Other people with polyphasic sleep experience should post their experiences with it here!

As far as lucid dreaming, its a gamble. I would assume that after someone's body/mind gets adjusted to polyphasic sleep that they start having some forms of dreams again, but do not have experience in this area. Perhaps it would be easier to do a WILD (wake initiated lucid dream) though because I started to become more and more conscious when I was falling asleep during my 20 minute naps. Again, aside from tons of gained waking hours (and it gets to be a lot) I do not know if its helpful with lucid dreaming.

Hey, i have been thinking of doing something similar. The only thing i would say is that i have decided against it for my health, most of the stuff i managed to find on it said not to try stuff like this when you are too young as it can have affects on your circadian rhythm and growth. I'm fifteen and i told myself i wouldn't try it until i was 18 or 19, how old are you? I just thought you might want to be aware of some of the advice against as you mentioned you were still in school.
Anyway hope it goes well if you do try it
Object number one for lucid dreaming:
Take over the world with an army of rubber ducks
      Object number two:
Go back in time and be personally responsible for the extinction of unicorns
      Object number three:
Master TK, get the subtle knife from his dark materials, get a Dragon, get a Harry Potter wand.
