Perhaps get another pillow. It might have to do with muscles in the neck, shoulders, head. Look into that, and how to relief tension. Tension in those muscles can translate into a splitting headache, especially in the morning. |

There are few mornings I can recall waking up without a headache. Occasionally I will have alcohol with supper, but I do not think that would be the cause for my head splitting in the morning. Does this happen to anyone else? I am not too worried about it, but it's very strange indeed. |

Could also be sinus related. Whenever I have sinus issues, I wake up with headaches. |

You may say I'm a dreamer.

Thanks for the help. I am sleeping on a contoured memory-foam pillow, which is nice enough, but I will test out a different one to see if that helps. Or it could be my sinuses - my allergies act up this time of year. |

I had that problem a lot earlier, until I realised that the reason probably was, that my head "ran hot" during the night. After that realisation I have kept the bedroom well ventilated during the night (slightly open window), and since then there have not been any headaches. |
