      Just A Thank You

To everyone who has helped me with my WILDs. You probably don't know me, or have ever talked to me, but I've spent hours upon hours researching WILD and looking at tutorials. Last night I had two WILDs, AND a DILD from a false awakening. By far my most successful lucid night.

So again, to everyone who has asked a question on here, or spent time making a tutorial for the benefit of the rest of us; thank you. I hope I might be as helpful in the future.

Can you share with us what you did and what method you used to achieve this? I'm on the same journey you were on, trying to get my first Lucid Dream...

What seems to work best for me, is for the first 20 minutes or so, when your body is still relaxing, and getting ready for sleep, I count my breaths to keep my mind occupied. After that, I completely let my mind wander, and just every now and then affirm to myself that I am still conscious. Sleep paralysis usually hits me very suddenly, and the first few times I tried WILDing, the surprise of it broke me out. Once you do it a few times though, you'll learn to keep yourself calm. Once I hit sleep paralysis, I wait about 10 seconds, then try to literally sit up. Since I'm in SP, I don't really sit up, but I sit up in my dream. It almost feels like I'm breaking through a barrier to get into the dream world. The first time I succeeded in WILD, I broke the cardinal rule and thought about my real body. That sucked me out of the dream instantly, so try not to do it haha.

Good job! Although i have never really written about WILD it makes me happy to kind of be noticed a long with everybody else the work everyone does! We have a great community!

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Do you mean that when you 'let your mind wander', that you phased out of awareness and then phased back in every once and a while, or were you aware the whole time?

So how long did your technique take, JDKendall? I feel like I'm doing the same thing that you were doing to achieve a WILD. I've been researching here and there, and have done about 26 WILD attempts (how many comes to mind) but have failed each. It makes me jealous when people say they had success on their 1st or 2nd try

The first part. I kind of go in and out of awareness. I'm pretty good at pulling myself back, though, so it might not work for everyone. As far as how long the technique takes, it kind of varies, just like how long it takes me to normally go to sleep. Usually between 40-70 minutes. Trust me, this was not my first or second try lol. I'd attempted probably 15 WILDS before I got my first one, and another 5 before I got my second.

This is basically what i do and this really works, i tried it this morning at 10:30 and i entered sp and entered a dream consciously but i couldn't do anything because in the dream i was still in sp. But what i did do while i was laying in my bed in my dream which was blurry, i raised my arms and i was on my way to getting up and i even tried to summond someone, but it didn't work and the dream ended a minute later. By the time i woke up it was 11:32.

That's happened to me too, topten. When it happened to me, it was a DILD, though. As soon as I reality checked, my "dream vision" completely froze, and was stuck on one frame. I couldn't move or anything, and eventually i woke up.

When I go into SP, my whole body goes numb and tingly. I also lose all sense of kinesthesia/proprioception. It feels like I'm tumbling through blackness, and I get some HH and usually a rushing sound in my ears.

So do you couple this with WBTB? I've been attempting a WBTB WILD but I either fall asleep or can't go to sleep. I'm trying to find the right balance. I've gotten as far as what I think was sleep paralysis... but it might have been numbness because I was laying still for such a long time.

It was probably just numbness. Did you feel disconnected from your body? Yes, I do this via WBTB, but I sometimes do nap WILDs. If you frequently fall asleep while trying to WILD, this method probably won't be for you.
