If it's quiet, you have to make sure you have a good anchor so you don't drift asleep from the silence - listening to your heartbeat, counting your breaths, etcetera. Noisy rooms can be good for anchoring too, but like you know, now, the noise can't be unpredictable. One loud noise will snap you out of it, which can be really frustrating! Music playing is good, but make sure it doesn't go from a quieter part to a louder part because once you start drifting off, that sudden change (even if it's fairly small) can wake you right up again. |
