      Noisy vs. loud

I have been trying to WILD for a while and I thought maybe I would try it in a noisy environment rather than a quiet one to help keep my mind awake (I honestly didn't think I would get any results). So I took a nap on my couch with the tv on and my little sisters being loud. I actually got closer than I've ever been. I was in SP with the HI's forming a dream scene. The only thing wrong with this was that my mom told me to wake up when I was just about to transition into the dream. I think maybe I should find a noisy environment that isn't unpredictable. I think I will play music in my room, but not too loud. Has anyone else had better results where its not quiet?

If it's quiet, you have to make sure you have a good anchor so you don't drift asleep from the silence - listening to your heartbeat, counting your breaths, etcetera. Noisy rooms can be good for anchoring too, but like you know, now, the noise can't be unpredictable. One loud noise will snap you out of it, which can be really frustrating! Music playing is good, but make sure it doesn't go from a quieter part to a louder part because once you start drifting off, that sudden change (even if it's fairly small) can wake you right up again.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I just had a WILD in a noisy room and discovered that the quality is bad and short.

I haven't heard of noise affecting the quality and length of LDs before; I've only heard that the sounds can sometimes permeate into the dream. Maybe it was a one-time thing (no one can tell if they only try it once)?
