Attempting a nap WILD, something odd happened...?

I played an Alpha Tones song I made that's 10 mins long and almost ALWAYS knocks me out -- unfortunately, I just as frequently wake up after it fades out. Then comes an Iso-Chronic tones mp3 I've made that dives from Alpha to a deep sleep frequency, and jumps back to a low-to-mid Alpha state.
I'm attempting to WILD at 1:30pm or so, because I get awesome HI in the afternoon. I don't remember falling asleep, and a bit into the 2nd MP3, I get an itch AND need to cough at the same time. Feeling lime it was going nowhere anyway, I get up, look at the empty passenger seat wantig gum. Then I remember my wife (who works elsewhere) offering me gum! When did this happen?! Did I dip and not catch it??

Hmm...interesting. Indeed, I believe you had lost consciousness and fallen asleep momentarily. During naps, you will hit REM very quickly. Even with a loss of consciousness, you may have immediately entered the dream state. I have had this happen to me a couple of times as well. It catches you by surprise once you notice...I'm like, "Well, son of a b****!" LOL.

What's weird is, I laid there, don't recall "waking up" -- and thought, "Well, this isn't working," and sat up. But my next instinct was to reach for the gum that wasn't there, suddenly remembering I was offered gum. I guess my recall sucks so bad, I can't even remember it upon instantly waking up, even though I didn't move a muscle.

This kind of thing happens sometimes. It doesn't necessarily mean your recall sucks that bad. Your mind will often times pass off a dream as a memory. Instead of you remembering the dream, your subconscious took it as an actual event (thus causing you to reach for the gum). Your conscious then picked up on it and said, "Wait a minute? Was that a dream?" Your mind tricks you often when it comes to dreams in general. Dreams really are completely unpredictable sometimes.
