WILD, Why do I fear it?

Why do I fear this now? why can't I just do it? is it because of all the things I read about it???? I say Im going to do it tonight, I wake up at like 3:00, its not time to do it yet but i shut my alarm clock off, I just fear it and go to sleep. I really want to do it but im afraid, afraid of being stuck or the Hallucinations. What can I do? I fear being in a lucid dream with expectations of bad things that will happen, I really want to practice WILD and not let these things get in the way. I appreaciate any help I can get.
      Thank you guys.

I have the same problem with FILD :/ I'm just scared my dream will start in my dark bedroom, and I have an intense fear of the dark. You could try WILDing when taking a nap during the day? I think for me that would help, except that I don't have time for naps, don't know about you. Good luck!

The majority of the time, nothing scary will happen. It also seems that even when something is a bit frightening...it feels less scary than you would think (basically, because you know it is fake). Don't worry, you won't get stuck in SP...if it gets too scary you can just force yourself out of it. Linkelynxy is right though, I don't think I have ever had anything scary happen during a nap WILD. If you fear the process that much, go ahead and try it out during a day time nap. Good Luck to you!

Thank you guys for your information. but how do I get to the point in which to do a WILD in the day? I usually tried WILD after 5 hours of sleep.
how would I initiate that process in waking hours?

You can try to WILD when it is light outside. Try it during a late morning or afternoon nap. Maybe the light will help remove some of the fear.

it may help to only try when you wake up from a good dream. if they are rare then perhaps you should work on dilds until you can control them well enough for a wild

3 is pretty early, depending on when you go to sleep. try it a bit later and you may be in a lighter sleep state which will be easier

Well what happened to me was, i was trying your wild technique yoshi (thanks for that btw ) and it took me about 15-20 mins and i started seeing millions of stars sail past my eyes quickly, and my tv was on so it was a bit to bright in my room for my liking. so while i was seeing these stars, i'm not sure if it was the tv, but these huge white flashes of light would blast by me. (10 minutes before this my eyes started moving extremely fast and it lasted during this as well) well, im not sure if my dream eyes opened or my real eyes, but i saw this dream beach that i always wanted to go to, but the rocks and the beach formed a face from a birds eye view and i saw my windows in my room. so i shut my eyes and saw the stars again. So i rolled over and i imagined myself going into my eyelids and i got this wierd feeling, but after i shut my eyes i lost my chance to wild for the night

You would go about it the same way you would during the night. Just lay down, get nice and relaxed, and begin with whatever technique you usually use. Its basically the exact same process, but you may want to throw in a relaxation technique as well (when you WBTB, you are already nice and relaxed because you had been asleep earlier). If you are pretty tired and feel like you won't have much problem falling asleep, I wouldn't worry too much about it an extra relaxation step.

Yeah, you were very close. Once you get to the stage where you are getting this HI/HH just kick back and passively observe it. You don't need to roll over anymore. Just stay as relaxed as possibly and allow yourself to fall into deeper and deeper relaxation as you watch the HH/HI. Just keep practicing...you were very close this time and I'm sure you will nail it the next time!

Ha it happened again last night , except i dont think i was quite as far into it. At first, I saw this blue-ish white light flashing in front of my eyes like a strobe light. Then, i saw the stars again, which is strange because ive heard u never see the same HI twice. But anyways, after i saw the stars i rolled over... (because i didn't read your post until the day after my second wild) But tonight, i am 10000% sure that i am going to wild. AND I WILL LUCID DREAM!

Well, the SP experience won't be the exact same every time, but HI will certainly repeat. I have saw stars several times...planets as well. I have also heard the same sounds a few times...shredding metal, banshee shriek, etc. Just keep that confidence and success will be just around the corner. Good luck!

Tonight I will do it at around 5:00 a.m., I keep telling myself I wanna do it but i never do so Im going to strictly wake myself up
with an alarm clock and dedicate, I have enough confidence to get over my fear. or let me ask you this question..lets say I set my phone to viabrate at a certain time, can that be an external que for a
      Externaly induced Lucid Dream??

I would strongly suggest you try to WILD with either a WBTB or during a day time nap (generally 1-8 hours after waking in the morning). The t.v. is fine unless it is distracting you and keeping you from being able to fall asleep.

It is possible, but remember, that que has to reach you within the dream. You would have to either hear the vibration or feel it with your actual body. Then you would need to pick up on the que inside the dream. Since it is only a vibration, it may be difficult to pick up on in the dream state. Go ahead and give it a shot though. Good Luck to you!

I am happy to report that I have done WILD. it was great but too short, I think closing my eyes and expecting a strip club woke me up lmao. im gunna do it again tonight, mayeb have the dream last a little longer. does that usually happen with first time WILD technique users???? but everything was vivid and nice but i was in a environment that was limited like a barrier, i shoulda dream spinned.

Congratulations on your success! It is much easier to look for something, then to just make it appear. I would suggest running/flying down the street thinking about a strip club and look for one. It is an advanced dream control skill to just close your eyes and open them to a particular scene. In my experience, there is absolutely nothing in a dream that cannot be found. Plus, the search is half the fun. You will run into some cool/crazy/random shit in your search. It will also give you some time to let the dream completely settle in and should help extend the dream. Remember to keep your emotions from running too high, thus causing the dream to end. With practice and experience you will learn your emotionally breaking points. Good luck to you!

No problem! You would be surprised how often trying too hard keeps people from actually achieving lucidity.
