      Completing the transition into SP

So I realized I was using a technique to transition from the stage before SP to full on SP that I haven't seen in the forums.
This morning I was laying there completely relaxed and my body had slight tingles all over. I knew I was close to SP, but I just couldn't quite get there. I thought about how long it was taking and thought it would never happen. But then I remembered something I had done in the past. I tried it and immediately the tingles started to intensify, I heard audio hallucinations, and after the tingles/vibrations leveled off I was able to climb out my body into a dream.
What I did was pretty simple. I just tensed my eyes. Basically I rolled them up and slightly crossed them. Like trying to look at the point in between your eyebrows. I don't know why this work, but I have used this multiple times in the past and it has worked every time. This will only work if you are close to SP though. You have to be able to feel the slight vibrations/tingles.
If you can't completely transition into SP try this and let me know if it works for you.
Also are there any other WILDers who have used this technique before?

I have kinda an off topic question. Why do you even focus on SP? Can't you enter LD without counsciously going throu it? Well, whenever I try to WILD I never think about Sp.
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

I don't focus on SP; I focus on entering a dream. In order to do that I have to be in SP though. I'm normally in SP for 30 seconds or less before I start the dream.

      I can echo this idea.
As I used to get close to SP I would feel my eyes rolling up and eventually opening my eyelids unconsciously. I tried what Trip is describing, and just tensed my eyelids the slightest bit to keep them closed. Worked like a charm.

So when I start feeling my eyes open up, I tense them? or just close them?

So you actually entered into SP after closing your eyes?

It's not closing your eyes. When attempting a WILD your eyes should already be closed. What you do is basically try to roll your eyes up towards a dot between your eyebrows.

This kind of sounds like using your pineal gland, your "third eye". Its what I started doing recently it works well.
You don't even need to use your eyes, but you need to concentrate on that spot inbetween the eye brows, when I do as you said, cross your eyes upwards, I find it easier to concentrate on this spot.

Yea just WILD like you normally would. And when you enter pre-SP just roll your eyes towards the center of your forehead. If you don't know what pre-SP feels like, you should be completely relaxed, you should feel slight tingles, and it should be relatively easy to keep your mind empty. Let me know if it works for you!

well, I felt those slight tingles, and I tried to cross my eyes upwards, and I kinda felt the tingles intensify but I never entered SP.

I get the vibrations very often, maybe this is the missing link? ( I still have no idea what they are!)

I'm sure you remember the other thread I'll give this a shot

EDIT: I shouldn't say tingles because they are vibrations

So the tingles are pre SP? I always figured it was just my arms and legs falling asleep...

I call them tingles 'cause it doesn't really feel like vibrating to me.

Are you able to keep your mind empty? If you can completely eliminate mental chatter, don't have any 'talking' going on, you should get close to SP if you are tired enough. If your mind starts to wander, let it, but don't engage any of the thoughts just observe them. The thoughts should eventually turn into images and then you know you're getting close.

If it is just one or two limbs they could've fallen asleep, but if it's over your whole body it's probably pre-SP. The two feelings are very similar though.

yeah, when I try WILDs my mind is clear. I think what happens is when I wake up to try my WILD, there's just some subconscious thought going through my head that I can't control, and it keeps me awake for hours.

As long as you don't engage those subconscious thoughts that's what you want, those are the beginnings of HI. I have had times where I'm laying in bed and I feel like I'm doing everything right but I still can't transition. For me this is normally because it's too close to the time I normally wake up. How much earlier are you waking up compared to when you would normally get up?

This happened to me this morning, the tingles intensified but I still wasn't getting all the way to SP. I just continued laying there observing the hypnogogia and about 5-10minutes later I found myself in a dream. The more the tingles intensify the closer you are! Just remain calm and focused.

So I tryed last night to do a wild with this method, I woke up at 6 am, but I couldn't get myself to get up and do stuff for 10 minutes so I failed. Also didn't remember a single dream.

How is your dream recall normally? If you're recall is good and you still can't remember a dream it probably means you didn't go through a good REM period that night and will have more difficulty WILDing. Also you can try doing a WBTB WILD without actually getting out of bed. This is the way I do it, but it really just depends on the person. If you keep falling asleep unconsciously then you will probably have to remain awake longer.

It used to be quite good, then I gave up on trying to lucid dream, then I came back (5 days ago) and my recall has been horrible.
