Recently I've started WILDing again due to the fact that I now have time to do it, and I've been noticing that I seem to have stopped making progress towards the dream state. This is because about 20-25 minutes into a good WILD attempt, I'll be relaxed, drifting slowly towards my dreams, and sleep paralysis will have already taken more than half of me. Then, suddenly, with literally no warning at all, my heart will start pounding in my chest like it's trying to escape, and I'll feel an incredible adrenaline surge that is not entirely unlike a seizure, with my eye muscles moving involuntarily and spasmodically.
When this doesn't completely ruin my WILD attempt and jolt me out of bed (i.e. when I try to resist the temptation to move and end this), the sensation lasts about thirty seconds at its peak and then starts fading away and is completely gone after about 1-2 minutes. Once this has faded away, I'm completely paralyzed - my whole head is under - but the paralysis fades away and I find myself becoming discouraged after a half-hour of fruitless non-movement and then aborting the attempt.
Sometimes this surge is accompanied with startling visions of volcanoes erupting and noises of ship horns sounding, and sometimes it is not accompanied by any sensory perception at all. I haven't heard of anyone mention this sudden adrenaline surge before in any research about WILDing, and I want to know: has anyone experienced this before? If you have, do you know how close I am to the elusive dream state? What can I do to stop having these or use them to propel myself into the coming dream?
Thanks,
Ethan
P.S. Sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm relatively new to WILDing.
