      My first WILD?

Hello everyone, I just figured i'd post because i've lurked a long time trying to learn how to become lucid and have been practicing arduously, too. I think it's been nearly a year since I became interested in lucid dreaming and within the past four months or so i've been really trying to practice it, too.

So last night I did another wbtb(?) and then attempted a wild. However I think I was only half successful with the wild attempt. I've been having some serious back pain lately and to my surprise I was able to relax without much of an issue and ended up with nothing to think about and just enjoying it.

Out of the blue I found myself outside my house and calling for my dog to get back in the house after our morning routine. Apparently so stubborn that I couldn't believe it was real and I ended up doing a reality check and bam, I could breath while pinching my nose. I was surprised, but not overly excited. I didn't know what to do next and then I found myself exiting the dream and hearing myself breath again and woke up.

It was sort of disappointing, but kind of rewarding at the same time. If I could get some insight on this it would be incredibly appreciated.

By your description I can't really tell if it was a WILD or a DILD.

Well, it seems you lost consciousness for a bit, so it wasn't a WILD. Though, I believe the WILD attempt definitely inspired this successful DILD. Congrats on achieving lucidity. The dream likely faded from your emotional surprise upon becoming lucid. Its ok, this happens often. Once you become lucid just relax and try to act as if this happens to you all the time. Just keep practicing and you will be fine. Nice progress !!

Appreciate the input. I've been meaning to do more reality checks lately, but i've been pretty busy and they end up passing my mind. I do however do them whenever I remember I haven't done them so I suppose every little bit counts.

I've been practicing dild recently and i've been trying wild for months with not much success besides learning how to relax which is nice by itself. I think dild may be best for me right now as I have a lot on my mind which makes it hard to even attempt wilds.
