      Welp. Getting Nowhere.

The past few times I've tried to WILD, I get to a certain point, and then I wake up the next morning and I have no idea what happened. It's like I remember things up to a certain point, and that's it. It's like a flip of the switch.

What should I do? Am I forgetting to stay conscious?

Hey guys, I'm back. Feels good man

I am in noway an expert in lucid dreaming nor WILDing though IMO stick with DILD and the WILD for dream reentry (instant WILD)
Just do reality checks every 45 minutes and compare dreaming to waking life, think where you were before doing the RC, after you have confirmed you are awake imagine you are in a dream and pretend to act/say what you would do in it, eg. "I will first see if my TV works (imagine it, vaguely) then I shall make a portal to school here (intend for it to happen/act it out, roughly)"
Finally affirm to your self that you WILL have a lucid dream tonight and that you ARE a lucid dreamer and that you WILL become conscious in your dream because you ARE a lucid dreamer and that it's very east.

I gradually stopped doing these reality checks everyday though sometimes I will perform them.
Instead I affirm to my self that I will have a lucid dream ect while meditating/in a meditative state everyday. (Don't know whether it works or not but I do it anyway)

I have had at least 1 lucid dream these past 3 days in a row and I don't think I'm going to be stopping. Of course focus and attention to lucid dreaming is needed too.
Maybe I am just one of the lucky few though I never had a lucid dream in my life until only a few months ago of reality checking and focus. In my dreams I don't even do a reality check to become lucid, I just become lucid. That is one of the reasons I don't do random reality checks as everyone says to do, I use an alarm.

Sorry to go off-topic but WILDs are hard if you aren't naturally skilled in it, of course you can learn to perform them but if it were me I would devote my time to DILD/MILD.

PS. Last night I woke up from a lucid and stayed still and nearly performed an instant WILD (I got up way too fast..).

      Good luck.
At the fork in the road I turned left while everyone else turned right..

Forgetting what happened the night before is a classic sign of falling unconscious. Have you tried Jeff's Free-Falling WILD Technique? It speeds up the wait for sleep paralysis, which might help if you end up waiting a long time with no results, and then drift off.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
