      Transition hard to achieve

      Hi,

So while I'm trying to WILD, whether it's a nap or WBTB, achieving transition is hard or time consuming. I know that it'll take some time to achieve WILD, and I'm aware of that. Timing isn't that crucial but when school starts I'll have to leave the WBTB out of the count.

It usually goes like this: I position myself to my back head tilted to left(most comfortable), be in that position for about ten or so minutes, rolling to my side. Then couple of minutes later my fingers go numb, then my toes. After that I either lie there for a long time or vibrations increase and can be felt all over my body, also HI increases. But I can't progress any further than this. I always find myself either fallen asleep or just too aware to continue.

So am I on the right tracks? Should I just lie there longer or try to relax more?

I've achieved the WILD only once, I woke up at 5 am, not sure why, and just went back to sleep. When I fell asleep(lost consciousness here but somehow regained it again),some what blurry picture of ceiling was in my sight so I just stood up and instantly fell to the floor, at this point I knew that I'd achieved a WILD(Not very long). Even without any RC's.

I've found that KingYoshi's WILD tutorial is most effective for me, since I usually roll in my bed. So credits for him.

E: I know that DILD is an good option for beginner like me, and I've succeeded there couple of times.

Comments and advice are highly appreciated

you are definitely on the right track. i am sort of stuck at the same juncture that you are. i can get extremely close with ease (body goes numb, then warm, some vibrations, lots of HI, tinnitus in my ears increases).. in fact, a few times i have even seen the room with my 'dream eyes,' but i thought i was really awake until i actually awoke and realized i had succeeded after all.. except that i really didn't succeed because i didn't realize it! d'oh!

just keep at it, and work on using different anchors as you get close to transition (the count 1-10, repeat, or count and say i remain conscious as i fall asleep, focusing on the environment, temperature, humidity, the way the air moves across your body, etc.). basically, i'd say do whatever you are currently doing (as it seems to be working) until you near transition.. then experiment with how you handle your focus at that point, mixing and matching different techniques (most of which you can read about on this site). that is what i am doing currently
