      Exclamation WILD help !

I have found about lucid dreaming almost a year ago and immediately tried WILD-ing but never had luck. This is what happens : I lay on my back (not the most comfortable but just found out I can WILD on the side http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/can-yo...r-side-121075/ ) , enter SP with no problems because I got used to it , and then just gaze into the darkness. However I can lay like that for over 30 minutes and still nothing happens. I tried imagining things a couple of times and then I start getting jolts of electricity all over my body ( Not afraid of them either) , I know nothing will happen but my heart starts bumping very fast and even though I try to stop it it takes some time. After that I don't feel any part of my body and feel like I failed. I try gazing in the darkness again but nothing happens so I just leave WILD-ing again. This happened like 15 times this year , and after over 100 WILD attempts I still don't have a LD. What am I doing wrong ? Also I heard that some people feel like their brain feels like fried after a WILD. Is it true ?

Im pretty damn sure your not in SP, as many people post the same thing, that they supposedly get to SP, only to lay in waiting for endless ammounts of time waiting for a dream to come to them. I was actually like you as well, until one day by accident, I actually did experience real sleep paralysis, not just numbness and heaviness, but random vibrations all throughout my body and inexplainable noises which scared the hell out of me at the time. It felt like I was having a seizure and I almost wanted to just get up right there but I decided to stay calm, and just seconds after the vibrations had passed, I was in a full LD. The point is, my first WILD came at a time I was not trying very hard for it, I just let myself fall asleep with the goal in my mind to regain awareness shortly before fully losing consciousness. Every WILD I have had since, has been in a time where I was not focusing so hard on hypnagogia or anything, rather i relaxed and fell asleep with awareness. I forgot the post, but someone on DV said that one of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking that you shouldn't fall asleep, but in reality its the only way to have a WILD. I hope you understand all this, if you have any other questions, ask again.

I am pretty sure I was in SP because the vibrations were quite powerful. However you are experienced so I will believe you. What do I do to stop my heart from beating so fast ? Also I am not focusing on hypnagogia but just look in the dark and don't think about anything. This afternoon I will try to relax completely and just lay and try to fall asleep while having a little conciseness with me. I will post again after the attempt. By the way how much time do you need to enter wild since the time you lay in bed ?

Ok, first I want to ask you how sure you are that you are in sleep paralysis, because if you have felt the vibrations, and the loud noises etc. and have also not been able to move, then yes you have been in sleep paralysis. Now, in my most recent WILD, I passed the vibrations and noises stage and then there was a calm and quiet right after and it felt like I had failed because usually when I hit the SP vibrations a dream will form around me by itself. This time however, I got up and realized my vision was very messed up, and I was actually in a lucid dream even though I thought I had failed. So next time you are sure that you have felt sleep paralysis/the vibrations/noises etc. if a dream doesnt form in front of your eyes minutes later, I would reccomend you get up and perform a RC, you may be in a LD with your eyes closed on your bed like I was. About the fast heartbeat, dont sweat it, that happened to me everytime, it wasn't until recently that I didn't feel a fast heartbeat when entering a WILD, so it will take some time to get used to but pretty soon you will learn that there is nothing to be scared of at all, and will get less overly excited. And about the time question, It varies a lot, for me it can take anywhere from 20 minutes after laying in bed to an hour at which point i usually get bored because its not working and im not tired enough. For WILD's, you should not try at night, you should try after having already slept for 4-7 hours beforehand, and whne you sleep for the WILD attempt, you should be drowsy but slightly alert.

If you are in full sleep paralysis the transition happens in seconds... If you are in partial sleep paralysis, you are still in too much focus of the conscious you.
Vibrations doesn't mean that you can go to the dream, vibrations means that you have to relax more to get to full sleep paralysis.
When you are in full sleep paralysis you are in a more subconscious focus and therefore your thoughts transitions into a dream.
So you were close! Next time you are in vibrations make sure that you don't get excited about it, because that can stop the process, everything should be observered calmly.
And when you feel the vibrations, see that as a sign to relax more, because you are really close. When the vibrations stops start visualising something and you will transition in seconds.
Keep up the good work and good luck! =)

yea, thats something i forgot to add to my post, the transition from SP to dreaming happens in mere seconds, it shouldn't take you 30 minutes which is why i doubted you were truely in SP

Lawilahd, he is in SP, I also feel exactly the save waves of vibrations he feels.
Transition is very difficult, if you are not relaxed you will stay in this void untill you do so,
On another note, the transition does not happen in seconds, it varies from person to person, we are talking about WILDing here, the transition usually takes about 5 -10 minutes for the experienced user.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Maybe there are different definitions of what full sleep paralysis is, But what i mean with FULL sleep paralysis is the one you are in upon awakening after a dream, which I guess is what the WILDER is trying to reach, and in this state the transition happens in seconds either if you are aware of it or not.

I have a question about SP then. If i am in SP i am not supposed to be able to move at all even if I try ? Cause my body feels a little heavy and I don't feel the position of my arms but if I try to make even a small movement i can feel the whole arm. From what Arch said I guess I was just minutes away from LD. But I didn't hear any noises, no hypnagogia , nothing. Also I am quite sure I didn't have a FA so far because I always check my mobile phone and open a different app and do some things every time, so it won't be that the brain knows what should happen .

Actually you don't have to hear, see, etc weird things when you are in sleep paralysis, but it's very common.
Next time try a visualisatin technique and if you are in full sleep paralysis you will WILD.

Agree haha, sometimes I feel relly exahausted if I chain my dreams, but that disappears as fast as it appeared.
I think I mentioined it in my dream journal somewhere.

      Edit: Found it!

      Title: Lucidity VS. Emotions

"Then I woke up and for the first time ever I felt exahausted, I don't believe in energy ways or something like that, but when I woke up I felt so tired that I thought for a second that it was because of wasting enegry in the dream."

I did it !!! I had a LD ! I lay in bed and got to the phase I was explaining in the first post. The same things happened but i continued to lay and started imagining things . The vibration grew stronger and stronger. Suddenly I thought of this forum thread, and Choi's avatar picture. Then it got incredibly strong. I started hearing ultrasound in my head and saw the outlines of a man's face. And it was all black again. Suddenly a scene appeared in front of me. It was very basic one, just grass and a tree. It didn't last more than 3 seconds because my heart started beating really fast. But it wasn't fear this time, it was excitement ! Yaaaay ! Thank you once more guys !

Congrats on the WILD now that you had one, make sure the next time you try for it, you do it in the same way you did and you'll get more and more used to the sensations. Just curious but how long was your transition from vibrations to the dream scene? for me I usually feel vibrations for about 45-60 seconds and then im in a dream.

Around 40 seconds. But the strangest thing is the whole process didn't took me more than 10 minutes !

See, thats why I expected that you weren't in SP before, because after SP it shouldn't take 30 minutes till transition.
