Wouldn't WILDing every night be dangerous?

Maybe it's just the fear of something new.

I'm trying to decide on which technique to use. I've tried using DILD techniques by practicing reality checks but it was too annoying for me personally to keep remembering to do a reality check during the day, so I probably won't use that one.

I'm considering practicing the WILD technique since I am able to alter my state of consciousness, so to speak. I used to meditate every day and was once close to being able to channel, so I think this is not too different from that.

But I'm concerned... Wouldn't WILDing every night be a little dangerous? I mean, I can see how all the other techniques are completely safe but I'm not so sure with this one - with the practicing being conscious during sleep paralysis and all that.

Also, the few times I've tried WILDing have been only more successful at bedtime, and not after an amount of sleep. I think about 2 nights ago, I was able to get to the point where I would hear roaring vibrations, not feel my body or my breathing (quite scary at first but I realized to calm down and trust my body), and see ALOT of hypnagogic imagery, (but when I allow a dreamscape to form in my mind, I always get caught up in the dream (not knowing I'm dreaming) and catch myself falling asleep many times. How do you enter the dream without falling asleep? ) but when WBTB and trying to WILD, I can't focus enough to get those same effects that I get at bedtime. Is that normal?

I also have a theory that REM is really just a state of the body and not of the mind, and that the dream occurs every time you fall asleep, but as you wake up the dream is translated by the subconscious/unconscious mind so it is understandable by us. I have this theory because every time I have music playing in the morning - not loud enough to startle me awake - I wake up and depending on the connections my subconscious mind has to the type of music, my dream becomes that. (ie having Final Fantasy, or other game music playing I have a dream with many connections to said game). I don't have that music playing during the night when I think I'm supposed to have REM sleep by the way. I hope that made sense. XD
