      Good alarm times for DEILDing?

I posted this in the Induction Techniques sub-forum, but I didn't get any answers

What alarms should I set to practice DEILD at night?
I'm using the Easy MP3 Alarm Clock on my computer for my DEILD alarm.
If I do a WBTB 5 hours and 50 minutes after falling asleep the first time, when should I set my alarm for DEILD attempts in between?

For example: I go to sleep at 9 p.m., and wake up at 2:50 a.m. to do a WBTB. At what times would I set the alarms (in the middle of going to sleep and waking up for a WBTB) to DEILD?

      Thanks in advance!

Don't use an alarm to DEILD. The whole idea of DEILD is that you don't move a muscle upon waking; you're not even supposed to open your eyes. Obviously if you have to turn off the alarm, that involves moving. But even if the alarm can turn itself off, it's still probably too startling to be used to DEILD. An alarm can be used for WILD, however.

Basically, WILD = wake up then start new REM cycle, DEILD = re-enter same REM cycle before the body wakes up (DEILD and WBTB are totally incompatible)

I know that. Let me rephrase - you know the CAN-WILD technique? It's kinda like that.

IMO, either you can lucid dream without the aid of external devices, or you can't lucid dream at all. Frankly I think things like "CAN-WILD" are pretty silly and they promise results on which they cannot deliver. Basically it's just noobies looking for the easy way out, so they can lucid dream without putting in much effort.

Okay, so "I wake up after my dreams and lay still" is better?

Well, they do what they wanna do.

Yes. Before you go to bed, say those words to yourself in your head, not as a mantra (mantras destroy meaning), but just once or twice. As you say them, understand the meaning of the words, feel the meaning. Make sure your intention is perfectly clear. Then go to sleep.

Eventually, and maybe not the first night, you'll find yourself awakened from a dream, with your eyes still closed. Once this happens, it's a simple matter of visualizing a scene in your head (it will come naturally to you) and letting it grow into a dream.
