The difference between meditation and wild?

Obioisly you do them at different times and with different goals. But other than that I have heard that Yo do the same thing. And I've also heard Yo don't.
      Wat do Yo think?
I think meditation is holding a single focus as strongly as possible.
And wild is holding a single focus as lightly (weakly) as possible.

Meditation is a pretty broad term and there are so many different types and purposes for meditation that you can't really say that it and wild are the same thing. WILD could be considered meditation but its only WILD when you are trying to get into a lucid. With meditation however you could be doing anything from thinking about a single subject or clearing your mind to try to enter an altered state of conciousness or all kinds of other crazy stuff and they all use different techniques.

I like to keep meditation goal-less. It's just for relaxation, with no other agenda there. However, I do find that dreams pop into my head sometimes that I'd "forgotten" from last night. But I don't set out for that to happen on purpose or it would corrupt the meditation.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

Meditation - you aren't trying to and do not want to fall asleep

WILD - the goal is to fall asleep/into a dream

They might look similar on the surface (laying or sitting very still)...but they are very different. (And it's not uncommon for new meditators to fall asleep while trying). I suggest you just read up on meditation, as there is a huge amount of information on it and a million different methods even just on this site, and I think you're already familiar with WILD. I would give more info but I'm not very well versed in meditating, never been very good at practicing it regularly (I never got much out of it when I did practice so I never really understood the point).
