      Difference between WILD and DEILD

I was wondering where the line is drawn between a WILD and a DEILD. There have been two occasions now where I have woken from a LD and then lain still trying to reenter without success. So then I start concentrating on my breathing until I feel SP set in and then enter a dream- usually not the one I exited but one that starts with me lying in bed.

So is this more like a WILD? I am usually pretty awake before starting the whole process, but it's not like I was fully awake beforehand. Technically I am entering a LD right after having a dream, but I am pretty aware as I fall into SP.

I suppose it really doesn't matter that much which it is, but I might feel more confidence in future WILD attempts if I know I've already done it.

First off, there are only two classifications of LDs: DILDs and WILDs.

All those other acronyms floating around are simply techniques people have created to help induce one of those two types of LDs.

DEILDs are no exception. What makes a DEILD 'special' is the timing involved. DEILDs occur when a dreamer initiates a WILD attempt directly after waking up from a dream. This generally makes the attempt much easier and quicker than a WILD performed after a WBTB or during a nap. However, the process is still essentially same.

Gotcha. So I guess my question was kinda like "what's the difference between an apple and a fruit."
