      would this still be in rem for a wild nap?

      if i wake up from a dream at 8:00am and then attempt a wild nap at 1:30pm would i still be in rem for a wild?

      That's hard to tell because it also depends on how much NREM sleep you got the night before. If you got your full amount of NREM the night before you might go straight into REM during that nap. If you didn't get all your NREM sleep the night before your body might want to go into NREM first which would make a WILD difficult.

      Or I might be wrong. This gets incredibly complicated and I don't think anyone could give a definitive yes or no.

      I believe early afternoon nap is still considered a WBTB for WILDing purposes.

      Your question doesn't make a whole lot of sense actually. You can't "still be in REM" at any time other than when you are actually asleep and IN REM.

      Generally speaking as long as you take a nap within 4 hours of waking up your chances of having REM during the nap are higher, after 4 hours, your chances are less. So it would be better to try and take the nap before noon if you wake up at 8am. However, this doesn't mean it won't work if you nap later, just that it is less likely to have any dreams.
