Remember you have to fall asleep in order to WILD. Normally we lose consciousness first and then our brain begins the actual sleep process. Learning to WILD is learning that it is possible to trigger sleep without first losing consciousness.

Don't speak to yourself and don't think too much. Keep your focus without paying too much attention and be patient.

Try not to move too much. Pay attention to the swirls and later images and movies that develop behind your closed eyelids. When you see a movie/dream, you can 'wish' to be in there and you should be transported inside the dream, while you keep your awareness. This is just one of the methods, and this is how it works for me. Cant speak for rest of them, since I don't think I have entered a WILD any other way. Don't get too excited, and it will work. You could check out DV Wiki for tutorials on WILDing, with lots more details about the process. Happy dreams

What I'm trying to say is that there's nothing you purposely do that will get you a WILD. Relax and go to sleep. You want to allow yourself to drift towards sleep but make an effort to remain aware as it's happening. Keep in mind that SP is not something that is separate from sleep. SP only occurs once you've fallen asleep but are still conscious.

You know, WILDing is quite complex. You would do yourself a favor by reading the tutorials. They will help you understand the whole process.

But to answer your question - if you fall asleep too soon, try to stay up longer for WBTB, after at least 4,5 hours of sleep. Happy dreams

I've never had any problem WILD'ing. It was my lucid technique that I tried and it worked so I just stuck with it LOL. But yeah, now that I think about it, WILD'ing actually is pretty complex. Like you said, reading tutorials would help a lot.

Surrealdreams, If you can't WILD very well, try the SSILD technique. It works wonders, man.
